I know, Halloween is over! But I enjoy the "art work" long afterwards. Did you carve any pumpkins for Halloween? I didn't carve any, but painted one. This picture shows one I voted on to win a contest. I think it was the cat that drew me!! I thought it was cute and someone did a nice job on it. Did you have a good Halloween?

Hi susieq,
We had a great Hallowe'en taking our daughter trick or treating for the first time, and yes we carved a pumpkin. I carved a witch face one, and my hubby carved a flaming skull pumpkin. We went to the Dollar Store and picked up some stencils as we were sick of the traditional triangle smiley face and wanted to do something a little different!
Luv & Hugzz, PurpleTeddyBear.

Alas no, I didn't get to carve any pumpkins, since with the exception of getting those really teeny, tiny decorative pumpkins, I didn't buy larger ones. They really don't sell them around my area anymore. But I often do things for a holiday that has just past. Sometimes, for instance, I'm not
REALLY in the real Christmas mood until after Christmas. That's such a frantic time of year, doing this, doing that, that it's hard to enjoy the season. So for a full week after Christmas I can sit back for instance, and pull out my tapes of all the different Christmas specials I've taped and can relax and watch them. I can also, maybe make new or repair old Christmas ornaments that I didn't get a chance to do before.
I still have my Halloween decorations up...hehe..might at least take the ones off the door tomorrow, but plan to keep the things in the apartment around and out a bit longer..why not? LOL

Sounds like a good idea to continue to celebrate after the holiday. You can find some good bargains at the stores by doing that. Since I count Halloween decorations as "fall" decor, I keep them up quite a while!

We did have a carved pumpkin, it was our first, we've been together for 3 Halloweens now but the first two we were apart at this time of year. And this year, he did all the carving, since I have a brace on my wrist ( on job injury) lol, but I helped him clean out the pumpkin and he carved it to look like a cat, even put ears on with tooth picks ( the portions cut out for the eyes served as ears). We did have a good time.

Since I am a better painter than carver, I usually paint. But either way, it is fun! Thanks for the response.

This year I didn't do any pumpkin carving or decorating and missed it. My son and his fiance made a really cool one and I'm waiting for the pics to show up in my email. You made a good choice in your vote. That is adorable.
