Wow! These types of accidents are so sad...The only reason they kept driving was probably not to get rear-ended...Maybe they thought pulling to the side of the road would be more dangerous...I get nervous when it starts raining and I have driven in fog on the back roads here in my town and it is scary...I can't imagine driving in thick fog on the freeway...My prayers go out to all of them..

When they have this type of fog, is it in patches? I would not be driving in it, unless it was like driving into it without knowing. Once you were there, what could you do but try to get out. I feel for all of them, it must have been so scary.

What a sad article. Losing two lives is a great loss but could have been much worse. Sounds like many of the injured people were on their way to work. Knowing this is an ongoing situation in the fall and winter, I would have found an alternate route to get to work. I'm such a whimp that I would have stayed home from work or gone in later in the day.

a lot of ppl have no common safety sense i guess. ive lived in an area that got some pretty heavy fog before and you STILL see ppl speeding by you like they have miles of clear road and view! its just insane, and yet they do it.
and of course on major freeway/highways once one crash happens, so many ppl are tailgating that the whole domino effect takes place.
