Searching for a user

Is there a way to search for a member here on myLot? I received an email notification about a comment to one of my responses to a discussion. That post was deleted and they did not post another response on that discussion (unless it was deleted as well). How do I find this user so I can add as a friend (if they aren't already) and PM them? If they are already my friend, which I don't think, can't I do a search without having to go through all 17 pages of my friends? Any ideas?

Do you remember the name of the member? If you do, you can type http://mylot.com/patgalca (I used your name as an example).

Do I just type that into my browser and it will take me to their profile?

Yes, I have used this method quite successfully.

I just would type in their name, but I see you already had done so. I do wonder what was the post about that was deleted? Was it the subject matter or did someone do something that violated the guidelines or did someone not well use the report button in place of the negative comments? I find that happens quite a bit. Anyway I am glad you found out who she or he was.

They posted a link to another website, if I remember correctly.

Both of the above suggestions sound reasonable, if you know the username. Have you found the person you're looking for?

Yes, I went with the first idea. I got to their profile and requested their friendship. As soon as they accept I will PM them. Thanks.
