I actually have two machines without antivirus or antispyware, but I keep the kernel and registry locked. Here's how I secure my machines: http://invincible-windows.blogspot.com/ Cheers!

I have been using both AVG and avast. I found that avg makes your system very slow while avast does not but it does the same function as AVG and hence I prefer avast than avg these days. It is fast updating and does not slow down your system and most of it is free and hence i would recommend avast than avg.

I am using now Bit Defender Antivirus Plus V10. It provides totally security and has a firewall with strong support of spyware and spam erasers. This software detects everything in your computer not just unwanted things also weird file transfers in you HDD or removable devices...

Wow i'll try it! I hope it's good. My norton anti virus just got expired. I'm thinking about getting more security. Thanks for this! See you all around!

I like Avast, it's free and user-friendly. I find the AVG interface harder to navigate through.

for me it NOD32, because its efficient, fast switching, ,it just eat up small memory. I know there are lot of anti-virus out there but nod32 is the one i am using maybe I'm not used to other anti-virus. but, with the feed backs of my friends, AVG does only scan and not deleting the virus i don't know its latest version. anyway, anyone just try nod32, its user friendly and now on its new version with built-in anti-spy ware.
