For me, group studies are ineffective. Our group studies usually end up to chatting with each other, movie marathons, daring games or internet surfing. It happens most of the time. How about you? What's your view on group studying?

I have never tried group study. Studying on my own has proved to be a vary good procedure, so I never tried to change it.

For me the group study is good for re-study something. For example, if I have an interrogation, it's good restudy the subjects with someone, so you can repeat better than alone. If I study something of new I prefer to study alone.

I agree! First you have to have a feel of the material already before you even think of setting up a group study.. It just won't work if you haven't read through it yet. We use group studies to throw possible questions at each other, and to recite the lessons out loud so we could remember them better..

Same here, Group study is not effective at all since we also end up chatting, but sometimes it is also effective because we can share our ideas and thoughts...

for me... group studidies work sometimes... and sometimes it doesnt.... when me and my friends really want to study... we study very seriously... but when we are repared already.... we take a break... and have some fun.... we play... watch movies... or even sleep..... so it does work at times... and it doesnt... group studies is also very good... becuse... u can get ur doubt cleared... and u can learn some new stuffs.

Everyone will have their own point of view for this. But where i stand is that group study is not effective.Group study is more of a get together than studying.Silent and calm environment is what i prefer for studying. In a group, its quite possible that one person might be confused on one topic, and another person on some other topic,,and theirs a lot of time wasted in solving others problem. The end of the day u get to know that you did solved others problems but ur own problems aren't solved yet.....n you ended the day with wasting ur time in group study...

as long as u r commited 4 it,u will by self not talk to others,a bit of determination does the job well.while studying discussion over the topics helps to clearify the doubts and also memorise it,so its an effective way of studying overall.

Sometimes, its not good to be studying with your friends. Like what you said, you and your friends end up with chatting. It also happened to me before. I asked my friend to meet up at school but we ended cahtting with each other and talk about others. But it is really recommendable to study with your friends. SOmetimes when you study alone, you come up with topics or ideas that you don't understand. You might notice that your friend knows that topic. It depends on you guys how to handle such group activities. Its up to you if you really want to study altogether even you end up doing nothing...

For me group study is better. I often do this with my friends. I like this because I just have to explain about a chapter. And after that.....My friends will explain to me about their chapter. That's gonna save my energy. And for me, it's easier to remember the tutor speech than learned by myself.....thanx..:D
