Nature Hates Me and I Hate Weather

Oh my God I am soo pi$$ed off right now. Well last ngith Tropical Storm Something-Or-Other hit our area. They were calling for winds up to 150km/hr and 3 days of power outages. Well, it wasn't nearly as bad as they were expecting, mostly everyone we saw, called, or drove by had power. BUT NOT US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No friggen way, nature made sure of that. While the people living both to the left and to the right of me have power I DO NOT. This is because the power company is stupid and ran the wire going from the pole to my house between two trees growing from the same stump and there isn't even enough room between them for the line so the trees rubbing together in the wind frayed the wire all the he11. Now they say that my power should......SHOULD......be returned by 11:30pm on Tuesday. TUESDAY. It is Sunday. The power has been off since 7am. ALL OF THE FOOD IN MY FRIDGE/FREEZER WILL BE ROTTEN BY TUESDAY. It wouldn't be so bad if the whole road was out, but it's just my house. It's like the hand of god came down and said "There will be no light.....not at your house." GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Goodness, sorry that happened. I know the loss of food had to stink but at least you are okay. One thing that could be tried is purchasing packaged dry ice and storing the freezer foods there at least, and using less dry ice for refridgerated items. Of course, when power is back and you want to use the food, check it just in case, for your safety. Perhaps the power company will run the wire around the tree to the side of less conflict instead of between tight areas with too much overhead.

The power company came and moved the wire so it shouldn't happen again. We did lost everything in the freezer though. :(

Man I was thinking of ya bunches during the power outages. We went from Sunday morning till this morning without any power. We are the last people in the area to get restored. We lost a few trees and a friend has a hole in her roof but everyone is okay here. Luckily we didn't have very cold weather here so we were able to stay warm but I am drinking tons of tea today. Last year we went three days in the freakin' cold without power and they keep saying a few more hours, a few more hours, yeah turned into days. It was just my road of a few houses and everyone else had freakin' power. I sent the kids to school with a note saying they were sick but you are warmer than us don't let them out for recess. LOL

Yeah it's worse when everyone esle has power than if everyone's is out somehow. It feels like God is singleing you out or something "Let there be light.....but not for you." Haha.

Nature does not hate humans. Humans are its children. People hate nature for various rasons. If the weather is bad, it is humans who have to be blamed. Humans who use the mother earth have abused it to invite global warming. It is due to global warming we have too many things in excess. Unless the man corrects it, nature continue to act erratically on mother earth, causing untold miseries. We have to learn to respect the nature.

You're right, they were stupid. How aggravating for you! And how unfair! LOL I know it doesn't help, but maybe they will manage to get you fixed up sooner instead of later.

WoooHooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was just after 12:30am (just after midnight) when my power was restored. We were without power for a total of 2 days and 18 hours though so everything in the freezer and fridge is a write off. :(

I've had moments like that...where everything seems to be conspiring against me, just me. Obviously you aren't home right now but I hope you could salvage as much food as you could. At least you had a place to go. Just keep telling yourself this was a surprise mini vacation!

Well I'm figureing that the stuff in my fridge that isn't okay at barely cool temperature is a lost cause at this point. I figure the ketchup and stuff should be okay and the pop. But my freezer stuff will be ruined. Luckily there isn't too too much in there but still. I will have to go buy groceries as soon as I get power back again.
