Do you believe in "The Law of Attraction"?

Recently, our company had a series of seminars and trainings for its employees. One of the things that the facilitator showed us was the dvds about "The Secret" It tells of the law of attraction. How you want something and you think about it constantly for it to happen. you see yourself the perfect end result. that is why some people are successful and some are not because of positive thinking. But first you have to be motivated within yourself so that you can do these things. and positive thinking. you cannot think about anything that is negative because it will probably happen because the universe hears it. accordingly, the universe doesn't care whether what your thinking is positive or negative, as long as you think about it and it will happen. Do you ever think that for instance today, you don't want to be late, you don't want to be late and guess what? your late! What if you said you'll be early today. Would it be any different?

if you've been practicing thoughts about being late so much that you believe things like "I'm always late", or "traffic is always heavy when I have to get to work" and stuff like that, and then one morning you say words like "today I'm going to be early", but underneath you actually believe your going to be late, then they will have not likely have any effect on that particular day, but if you were to continue practicing thoughts like that, and did it with feeling till your beliefs on the subject were changed then absolutely your experience would follow suit.

There is a difference between believing that you can do anything and actually doing it and only convincing yourself that you might be able to do it. SOmeone told me once that a person cannot "try" to sit down. you either do or you stand up. there is no in between. so if one keeps saying it but really don't believe it, who are they trying to kid? only themselves. so be true to yourself.

well, my tailbone has been sore for some reason for a few days now, and I'll tell you what... I have been doing a lot of 'trying' to sit down! Hehehe. And yeah, Yoda with his 'do or do not do, there is no try'. I actually don't agree with that though, even though I understand the philosophy of it. In some cases it doesn't really apply... like when a baby is learning to walk, it just keeps trying till one day voila! it's walking.

Haha no, according to the DVD, you shouldn't even say "i don't want to be late". Say "i will be punctual!" better yet, go for "i AM punctual!" I do not subscribe to that totally. but what i like about The Secret's principles is that it actually teaches you to be more optimistic. Optimism changes you because it gives you a better outlook and faith and trust that you will be alright. The Secret is directed to an amorphous "Universe," but in reality, we do not just have a "Universe" or "Higher Power". We have God, and it is to Him that we should address our concerns. I like The Secret because it taught me that negativity has no place in my life. I like being realistic, but negativity should never be given even an iota of ground in one's life. I think that's the main problem of the Filipinos nowadays. We declare the problem, but not the solution and the fact that God is sovereign and will be able to deliver us from ANYTHING. I say, take the principles from The Secret, and declare your prosperity, your well-being, in submission to God's Will! And remember, Jesus did say that God is the kind of Father who would never give His children a snake when they ask for fish. BUT He does require faith, the same faith that The Secret is trying to teach. So take heart, learn, filter, and be more optimistic!

I agree with you about optimism. I mean when a person is optimistic, they have a different air, hope is a powerful thing afterall. About Filipinos only declaring the problem but not the solution, well, i somewhat agree too. but it is not just Filipinos I think. it is a lot of other nationalties too.

ahh yes, please forgive my racial slur. but you know, it's just that we see poverty everywhere and it's the normal human bent to react to what the stimuli is. it takes a trained mind to seek to see what God is doing rather than to see what the world is at the moment. so it's faith, hope, and trust in God, basically, that lets us see more than the bombings, corruption and frustration. it takes knowing what is the eternal plan of the Lord and why things are happening this way, for one to focus on the good things that are about to happen and not dwell on negativity. ;)

The more you try to be perfect, the more hurdles you will come across. But you must have the will power to cross the hurdles. For that first you must have self confidence and at the same you should not try to build air castles. As you say self motivation is also required and you should not expect motivation from others.

yup, i mean i know a few people who needs to be constantly told that they can do it.. sometimes, its exhausting. what if one day they say they can't do it and you turn around and say, yeah you're right, you can't do it...

I believe in the power of the mind which is the nerve center of our being. If you think it, you can achieve it! Therefore one must be careful what one thinks in order to achieve desired goals. I have not seen "The Secret" but it sounds like a powerful tool that I would be interested in viewing. I believe in self-determination and good timing. This dvd sounds like a mere tool to help one achieve their ultimate performance. Nothing works if you don't believe in it. Do you believe?

Actually, I do believe that the mind is stronger than any organs in our body. So if you want something, you have to believe you can do anything to get it. otherwise it is pointless.

Yes I believe in the law of attraction. It is a very simple law. Whatever you want, you can have, you just want to have it enough and go for ti!

in order "the secret" to work, one of the most imortant concepts is that you have to be very technical about what you want f o c u s e d. you have to filter through and prioritize what it is that you actually want in like. meditate on it and then live it! there is so much stimulation in the material world that are mind is never clear on just one intent or attraction. we are slaves to our senses and we are so busy on a daily basis just fulfilling our senses needs that we fail to see the bigger picture l.e. the forest through the trees!!

i am now in the process of writing my priorities in order. what do i really want first and foremost in the material world so that i focus on that until i get it. it is good practice because above all else, i've stopped myself from being pickle minded...c",)
