Scary movies now days vs the olden days

Hi, my opinion is that older scary movies relied more on the phsychological fear and not so much on the visual. Today's movies relie very heavily on special effects, monsters, blood and guts, etc. Alot of the movies I get from Netflix that are supposed to be horror are just stupid and not even remotely scary. The thrillers however tend to really freak me out. Have you seen In The Mouth of Madness. That one gave me nightmares for weeks. Or Event Horizon, another one that really freaked me out. Suspect Zero was good and creepy. I know I have more creepy and scary movies that I have seen, but I would have to go look them up. I tend to write down the ones that I really liked.

I used to think this but thn realised that maybe it's because they were the first ones I watched and I was much younger. If u watch some of the old ones now, they just seem a bit silly. I love old horror movies but it's because they scared me so much when I was younger

I love watching horror movies and watch a lot of horror movies. I think old ones are better although they don't have good side effects like the modern ones. But the modern ones seem to be same as one another so I don't like the new ones much. Also, the horror movies are also made like action movies these days. Older halloweens, friday the 13ths, nightmare on elm streets, the haunting and the challenging are pretty good movies. You can watch them, if you haven't. vani ^__^

I agree the older movies were scary for their time.. Now that we have great special effects those older movies effects look so boring. Also, I feel like the newer ones are ones that I have already seeen over and over again. I feel they are not different at all.
