Two Pieces Short of a Calzone

Some of you may not know what a calzone ring is. I won't go into exact detail, but it is a form of a kind of pizza in a round shape, with a whole in the middle. A couple days ago I ordered one from my local Mazzios (pizza place). It arrived and I put it on my counter and went about doing something for my dog, and then I answered the phone. It was a short call, so I went back into the kitchen and opened the box with the calzone ring in it. Only to behold two pieces missing from it. There was no full circle, just two glaring omissions of a calzone. I thought I had lost my ever loving mind. I checked my entire apartment, up and down, in my fridge, in my bathroom even, and no plate with two pieces were around. I opened my dishwasher to see if I had lost my head and put the plate with the food IN the dishwasher. Nope, not there. I pushed together the remaining of the calzone ring together to see if it had just fallen apart, and only gave the illusion of 3/4 of a circle. No, that was not a whole calzone. These calzone rings have been around a while, I know what they look like, LOL. So I came to conclusion it wasn't me! Somehow my order came with part of it missing. Anything odd or unexplainable happen to you lately? Did you think you lost your mind?

Thank you for dicribing about Calzone, i really didn't knwo what it was.So you think you lost you mind? What about your dog?Maybe it look so great he have to taste it.:) I am loosing my mind very regularly when i put something on the table and then go back and cannot find it and I am sure i put it there just minute ago. Or I find one letter, what i didn't see long time ago, so I put it to my handbag and it is no more there. So I check all of my handbags , btu find nothing. Did I lost my mind and put it somewhere else or what? :)

I called about it and of course they wouldn't admit fault, but I have a sneaking suspicion that someone made a calzone for the workers, and instead of putting mine in the box, they took the one for the employees to give to me, and didn't realize someone had eaten off of it. That's the only logical thing I can think of.

Well, I don't have a kitchen table, and nowhere I could have set it would my dog be able to reach. After all, I didn't even find a plate with crumbs. My six pound dog doesn't care for calzones anyway, he prefers fish. LOL

Oh Ambie, how funny you wrote this. Thank you for the laugh. I needed it tonight. Had a rough day and came on to be with my dear friends tonight. Now to be fair I have to ask.... Did you smell the dogs breath??? Maybe he decided to have a little snack while you were on the phone.

Never mind if he stole the pieces of the calzone, I want to know how he got all the way to the cabinet. That is some feat for a 6 pound dog! I may take his show on the road, LOL.

I was thinking that same thing. But, then I thought, would the dog know to close it after stealing a piece or two.

Well, you know, if he was smart enough to sneak behind her back and steal a couple of pieces, he may have been smart enough to close the box. Let's face it he was smart enough not to leave a dirty dish or else he washed it himself LOL (:

Hi AmbiePam, I too have had little problems happen before when I have ordered food from places and it really can be frusterating. I can just picture you running all over the place trying to find the missing pieces, poor thing! Did you call and complain? Luv & Hugzz, PurpleTeddyBear.

I called and they claimed it just came out of the circle and it only looked like pieces were missing. Yeah right. They did tell me they were sending me a four dollar coupon. I wasn't too mad, just annoyed.

I've never had an experience like yours, where a piece of something was missing, but I have had an experience that proves I am losing my mind. I was on the way home from a shopping trip that was a little further than I usually go. I realized that there was a White Castle place on the way home, so I decided to get some, since there are no White Castles close to where I live. I ordered and paid for a sack of burgers, and went happily on my way. I was in a hurry, and I was half way home before I realized that I pulled out without waiting to get my order! I didn't have enough time to go back and get them, so I just went home. The smell from the place had drifted into my car through the open window when I paid, so I drove home the rest of the way smelling burgers that weren't there. I was bummed.

I thought I was going to lose my mind when I went to McDonalds and ordered through the drive thru and only received 3/4's of my order, of course I didn't realize this utnil I was pulling out of the parking area and I didn't have time to go back and get the rest. I had to rush home. I had locked the door and my daughter didn't have her key that day. So, that made me want to lose my mind. Other than that, sometiems I think I have gone crazy because I know I set my alarm clock the night before and it doesn't go off, or I will put my keys on the key hook and they somehow end up on the dining room table.

Oh, I can beat that one. I pulled in the drive thru at McDonald's one time and ordered a cheeseburger. Now having had problems with them before I pulled up a little and started checking my order. The had given me a bun with ketchup, mustard, onion and pickle but left off the meat and cheese. Trust me, I parked my car and went flying in and proceeded to unwrap it in front of everyone. The manager gave me a new one - complete with meat and cheese - and he also gave me back my money and apologizes. He was a really decent man.

I can beat yours too. When I was in my twenties, my friend and I went through the drive through. When we drove to the window, they handed us our order. They had not charged us yet, we looked at each other in disbelief and my friend sped off like a bat out of hell. Which is where I would have ended up, had I not mended my ways.

I don't think I ever had anything like that happen, but with very picky kids, when we go to McDonalds, I sometimes feel for the people because, one hamburger, ketchup only, another hamburger, ketchup and pickles only, and so on.. So every once in a while, they get it confused, like one time instead on just ketchup and pickles, my son got mustard and onions..(yeww, sorry, even I wouldn't eat that) Of course we find out before we leave and so we had it corrected.. But the few times, like when we get a pizza and don't realize until later that it was messed up, my husband will call and most of the time, he gets a free pizza for next time.. As for your situation, I think the coupon you got was for a free calzone, correct? Well that is how they do it, they try to make it up by replacing what was messed up..

I think you should demand a free calzone, because like you said, it looked like there were pieces missing..

Nothing like that has ever happened to me. I used to work in a pizza shop and if a customer would have reported that, someone would have been fired and money given back and new made. I have had things happen like missing things in an order from McDonald's or Burger King. I have had things missing from an order in a restaraunt. But, to have something taken out of my meal...I would have been hot and on the phone. Mess with my meal and mess with me. LOL I get pretty worked up about my food. LOL

I did call them on their main line. They in turn called the actual store who delivered my order. The main line then got back to me and said they thought the ring just separated and I needed to push the circle back together. Puh-lease. I told the guy that wasn't possible, and he was really apologetic, but I wasn't mean to him. He said he was sending me a four dollar coupon. LOL, I don't even want it, but maybe I can use it as a stocking stuffer. The guy I talked to had nothing to do with it, but I did find out which store the order came from. I might write them a letter.

Maybe the delivery guy was hungry and helped him self. Or someone else at the resturant. Stranger things have happened. The other day, I came out of the shower and there was this man talking in my bedroom. I panicked, because all I had on was my towel. Come to find out, it was a carpet cleaning company leaving a messege on my answering machine. For a minute there, I thought that I was going to lose my mind, LOL.

I had a weekend of scrapbooking with my daughter in law and sister and granddaughter. I share alot of pictures with my daughter in law. I had a bunch of extra gymnastic pictures of my granddaughter and told her she could see if she wanted the rest to put in my granddaughters book. I had them laying next to me one minute and when I went to give them to her they were gone. The weekend is over now and I have put everything back in it's place. I never did find the pictures and have no idea where they could be!
