Ready For Change?

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 A few years back we had such a warm, dry autumn. The leaf colors didn't peak as in other years. That beautiful fall foliage didn't arrive in all of its splendor like some other years. It did come....just late, and slowly. The leaves had a hard time changing. Change is hard for me too. Seems the older I get, the less I welcome it. The old and familiar is so comfortable. Letting go and letting God seems to be the best way. Certainly the most painless. Probably the most effective, too. Good thing God doesn't tire of growing and changing us. He'll do it as fast as we let him. And He is never content to leave us where we are. So that means change! Change is hard ........even for leaves. But it's the perfect plan. And, it's good to remember that wherever we go, God is already there. That's good news. Prayer: Father, change is a sure bet for me. Nothing stays the same, except You. You alone are the same yesterday, today, and forever. Help me remember that change is part of your perfect plan for my life. In Jesus' name, Amen -Sally I. Kennedy

Change is good. We change something here everyday, just so our girls don't get used to the same old. The biggest change they have had is moving house! lol. They love it. comfort and familiarity are good too, but i've always been told that familiarity breeds contempt. Everything around us changes everyday, but that's how we grow and learn.

As long as they have structure and consistancy in the most important areas, they will be just fine.

That's right. Gradual change is something you barely notice and is the easiest, but not always the most exciting! lol. Quick changes offer more of a challenge and have quicker results . Both are needed for us to grow!

You know, I've always had a bit of a problem with change. I mean, I can do it okay, but I just don't like it. I have routines that I like and I get used to seeing things the same. Change can be hard, but it's definitely something I deal with on a regular basis. My friend's dad always used to say, 'The only thing constant in life is change'. How true is that? Change for me is mostly good, but it's still hard for me to deal with sometimes.

I know what you mean. Change can be hard and painful or a nice relief. I have had some changes that I call painful miracles.
