Do You Have A DVR?

I have Direct Tv and have a DVR in my room. I love that I can record shows and pause tv. I also like that if I miss something I can rewind the tv and see what I missed. Like the other day there was a funny comercial on tv and my husband missed it. So I pushed rewind and there it was. LOVE IT!! I like the pause feature because say the kids are fighting and your in the middle of a really good movie. You can pause right there and take care of the kids come back and its right where you left off! Do you have a DVR?

I want to get DVR - I wish we could buy it outright and not just 'rent' it.
Got a few questions for you...can you record off of the DVR? and can you fastforward through commercials with it?

I dont know if you can record from it. I havent tried. You can only fast forward through comercials if your watching something you have recorded or if you have paused a show on TV. I always Pause the tv for 10 min before my show starts so I get to fast forward through the commercials! We dont rent ours or own it. We just pay 5$ a month to have it hooked up.

I dint know you could record onto a tape od dvd. Thats cool. I ll have to go tinker with it and figure out how.

Debs, you can record something that you stored on your DVR to either DVD or VHS. I liked this feature. I know lots of people who make DVDs for their kids this way.

YES, and I thought it was the end of all days when it stopped working and it took the cable two days to get me a new one

HAHAHA!! Thats how I felt when we moved. I had to wait a week for them to move my service and set it up. I had to go to a friends house to watch my shows on mom and tues!! Life sucks without a dvr! LOL

We just had cable installed last week. We got a dvr with it. I haven't figured out how to use it yet though. I guess I should read the booklet and try it out.

Its not hard to use. If you want to record a show press the record button. If you want to pause push pause and so on. There is also a place in the menu where you can scedual show that you want recorded.

Is that was that is...LOL...No, I don't have one but it sounds like a good idea...Who knew you could pause and rewind a TV program or a commercial for that matter...I like the kids fighting reason...LOL

I have a DVR & it is one of the BEST inventions of all time. I never miss my fav shows & I can watch them at my convenience. If you dont have one I would suggest getting one if your a TV lover & just dont have alot of time to watch.
