I Love to Swim

I really love to swim. It is the only sport I was ever good at! I used to run, but now, bad knees, back, and hip prevent me from running. The ultimate, for me, was when I was in the Marines, stationed in California, they had an outdoor pool. I used to go swim a mile on my lunch break, until the doctor told me I couldn't anymore. I live in Florida now, and I would be thrilled if I could find somewhere that had an outdoor suitable for doing laps. (You know, so that I don't have to flip every 5 strokes, lol. Makes me dizzy.) Swimming is the only sport I can do without fear of hurting something, and I burn so many calories doing it! I can jump in and swim a mile, even if I haven't swam for years. I used to swim 3 miles, but then life got in the way, and I quit. I wish I could find a pool near me. I don't really care for the YMCA, because their lap swim times are so inconvenient. I really miss swimming. :( http://www.killmydebt.blogspot.com

I love swimming too but my biggest problem is fear. I am afraid of putting my head under water for long. I tried to overcome this, but it is not really working.

I'm sorry for you. You should try to work on that. Maybe you could get a coach to help you with it, or something, or a friend you trust. You just need to have someone there with you that you trust, so that when you put your head in the water, you can work through the panic, because you know there is someone there that won't let you drown. Good luch with that. http://www.killmydebt.blogspot.com

You could take a swim class at the YMCA. They teach adults, too. It's called the 'backstroak'.

I like swimming but I can't say I am very good at it. As I can't swim for a long distance. My husband and son likes swimming, so we like to go to the swimming pool to have fun in summer. To me, swimming is like a fun sports than an exercise.

Oh, I'm just the opposite. I hate being in water if I can't swim. I don't usually swim in the ocean, though, but I do love to snorkel.

I like swimming too. Though I'm not "stellar" at it, I do like aqua play every now and then. The best is snorkeling out in the ocean along some of the top layer coral reefs and seashells. Then there is scuba but I only do that rarely. I'm with you, if only there were some good aqua facilities nowadays. Not just pools, but you can practice in a waterpark or aqua facility. Just have some fun in the blue, I say.
