Anybody tired of Christmas already?

It seems like the older I get the more agitated I get when it comes to the last two months of the year. I don't see how bringing up Christmas a month and a half before it's due is going to make anybody excited because of the way the media go about doing it. October wasn't completely over and I was seeing stupid Christmas commercials. The funny thing is, Christmas isn't about shopping!! At least it wasn't the last time I checked. It seems like the more I get older the more these so-called holidays turn into money making days. I'm so sick of this propaganda that it's making me into a huge grouch. I can't believe I can't enjoy this holiday anymore because each time I turn on the tv, there's a commercial for enticing you go out and buy something for the 25th of December. Am I the only one who feels this way?

You are right about the propaganda and media where Christmas is concerned but I'm definitely not tired of Christmas already! I'm just getting into the spirit and am enjoying it!

It's not wrong to enjoy a holiday. I just wish it wasn't based on spending spending spending and more spending. It's basically a money making day instead of a holiday. People get into competition on house decorations. People go for broke just to get stuff to satisfy people. Kids boast about how much stuff they got and rub it in to those who can't afford to get anything. I remember doing that when I was a kid and since my mother brought me up in church I realized that nobody but religious--if I can go there--respect the true meaning of what the date actually mean. No other holiday gets played out like Christmas. If it gets celebrated the month of December and no later than that, then maybe my mood would be better. I not only hate the last two months of the year but I have to deal with Jan-March because Christmas still gets talked about. Songs still get played and Christmas programs still get showed. I say celebrate Christmas in December and that's it. Let it go because it's not that deep.

I'm not really tired of christmas, but like you I'm tired of how commercialized it has become. This year our family hasn't got too much money to spend, so we will not be buying too many gifts. I'm completely fine with it, after all the real meaning of christmas isn't spend, spend, spend. I do think that stores are putting out christmas stuff way to early. Some stores here had christmas stuff out before halloween was even here. That's a little too early for me.
