Okay as some know here my wife and I had a bad experience at our clinic when she went to get a blood sample drawn for testing to be a possible bone marrow donor for her ill brother. Now I knew I could not say anything then and there as it happened as I am a very hot headed person in these situations. So I decided to go home and make a phone call to complain. Now the first few calls the manager of the clinic was in a meeting. This took a few hours and many calls before the meeting was over as far as the receptionist knew. I kept getting the voice mail thereafter. I did not want to leave a message and did not want to sit around waiting for a return call. Well then today I kept trying and finally got a hold of the manager. Things have been resolved and this rude employee is going to be reprimanded for her words and or actions of yesterday. It took about 30 calls totally before I got a real person not voice mail. My questiion(s) follow....Are you hot headed to the point where you have to complain over the phone to avoid embarassement? Do you hate having to leave a voice mail then wait for a return call? Are you the type to let something like this blow over not filing a complaint? Thanks in advance. I felt I was very professional in my 15 minute chat with management also.

I do hate having to wait for someone to call me back. I also hate leaving messages in a situation like this where I want and need to talk to a real voice. I would never just forget the situation, this was terrible and I'm glad the issue is being dealt with. You did very well. Good Job.

I am not usually the type to let things blow over if I am seriously annoyed. Neither is my husband. usually he is the one who lacks control of his temper if he gets very angry.
To me that would be a thorough nuisance having to make 30 cals to make your complaint. At least this person will be spoken to for her rudeness. There should be a better system set up for complaints.
Hubby & I went to my step sons school for a meeting. We were both very annoyed at the school for various reasons. Although I wasn't rude, I gave two teachers a very hard time with my questions. Unusually for my hubby, he stayed calm.

As I stated in another comment I added, ever since I sobered up I have learned self control on my temper in situations such as this. If I was still drinking this woman would have been crying or slapping me right away. It's the waiting on the phone or the message thiongy. Grr!

i am a hot-headed person as well... but i always try to control myself... i always try to tell myself that violence will never work... i don't really like to talk on the phone and usually prefer to confront the person straight away at that particular time and forget about the incident after that... anyway, you handle the situation really well grandpa bob... take care and have a nice day...

Well after all the calls I made waiting for management to be
in their office I wasn't about to go there sitting for hours
hoping they'd be in the office soon. HAHAHA!!

I'm glad you kept calling until you got someone. And that you got them to take action against that worker that was so rude. I'm very hotheaded at times too and I usually just get mad right then and there and let it be known. It actually takes a lot to make me VERY angry but when you do it's not a pretty site. LOL Cause I don't care who all hears me. I am the type that will file a complaint if it's bad because how else will they know what happened, they won't ever know unless another person complains. And no I don't like leaving voicemails either because I think they probably won't call me back.

Oh I was not under any conditions leaving a message and wait for a
call back. If that happened I would have flipped out on the phone
then. Hee hee. Ever since I sobered up it takes a lot to get me riled up to the point of my anger rearing it's ugly head at anyone. HAHAHA!!

Well I am glad to hear it was all taken care of. I am a hothead regardless of where I am. I have been known to let people have it in person or via phone. Makes no difference to me. I try to be nice, but sometimes, I can't help myself. My hubby always laughs because he can see it coming. He always looks at me funny like "oh crapola.. there she blows" when someone says something he knows is going to get my goat...lol. Oh well, better let it out than bottle it up inside !!

Good for you. I do complain if I think it's justified. I try not to get hot headed but if I am given the run around then sometimes by the time someone get ahold of me I am beyond being friendly. She should have never treated you like that. She is also supposed to be a professional. Glad its resolved!

I've only once been driven to contact a supervisor in relation to the performance of a behind the counter person. I had been badly treated and another customer was also involved and he was quite intimiating.
The way I see it though is losing my cool and complaining doesn't improve the situation.
When I contacted the person's supervisor it was to advise of the situation that occurred and to strongly recommend that this person receive proper training or be moved to a section where they didn't come in to contact with the public. It was a calm exchange and the supervisor was at ease and very understanding of my discomfort and unhappiness.
Businesses want to know when things are not right. I think we should tell them but I also think that getting upset and being angry doesn't really achieve a positive outcome.
I'm so pleased you were able to be professional in your dealings with the supervisor in this instance.
The lady you dealt with was quite insensitive in your case. Happy postings to you too mate.

If I have a complaint, I prefer to deal with it in person instead of over the phone. I can be hot-tempered but can usually keep it in check if I talk in person. Over the phone, I go off wayyy to easily. lol I won't leave voice mails either cause I discovered they never get returned. Lastly, depends on the situation if I let it slide or I make a racket.

What a rude mean old *B*!! Wow. I don't think I could be so quiet for I'd be in her face with plenty to say! I'm so glad you didn't give up on the phone calls and finally got through to complain. That woman needed to be put in her place on the spot but you did the right thing in talking to her superviser. I hope she gets the kick in the rear end which is just what she deserves!!

so glad you spoke to management in a cool and collected manner.they probably would have taken no notice of you if ranted and raved.i usually get really riled up and nowadays i wait until i have calmed down before i make a complaint.even if the end result is not what i may have wanted,i feel better that i have made a complaint, especially if the complaint involves my love ones.good on you cheers sue

I do complain when I feel that things are not right. I am NOT calm about it in most cases. Like you, I often have to wait and call later when I am not so fuming mad. I HATE not being able to talk to a person, and I feel they are purposely avoiding my call when I am calling with a complaint. I sound like a terrible person now that I re-read this, but I'm just tired of letting things go any more. People just think they can act however they want and others around them should just accept it. I rarely let things blow over any more because I am so disgusted with the selfish behavior that is so common around me. I'm glad I'm not alone on getting so upset when making complaints!

Yeqah I have a bad temper when I get treated wrongly when I am the one that's helping pay their wages be they meek or huge salaries. HAHAHAHA!!
Not terrible sounding. You sound like me to a point. And I AM NOT a terrible person. HAHAHA! If I am a paying consumer/customer I expect to be treated with dignity and respect is my outlook.

You must do a lot of complaining. I don't go very many places where there is much respect now days. I'm just kidding about you doing a lot of complaining, but I'm not kidding about the respect. I don't think as a society that we are teaching that any more.
