As my friends know, or if you've read the discussion I had an electrical wire fall onto my front lawn on October 4th. It was such a hot wire that it turned the soil into glass almost a foot down into the ground. The electrical company said they'd repair the damaged lawn as it was their equipment that casued the damage. Well it took a months time but it's done finally. I went to my local A.A. club for a meeting and to meet and go to dinner with a couple friends. When I returned I was shocked as they did repair it. And I had my Christmas lights ling the yard very close to the damaged area and they did not mess with these lights. I am very pleased with my electric company and with the work they performed. I plan on sending them a thank you letter along these lines. The attatched photo is the repaired area. Look closely and you can see the edges of the new sod they laid down. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Yeah but one p[roblem comes spring. The repaired area is sod and the rest is just grass. The repaired area will be so much greener I think come summer. HAHAHA! A patchwork Lawn. Too funny. HAHAHAHA! Thanks also. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Good for you! A few years back we had a big storm on the fourth of july....the power company came while I was on vacation and cut down half my tree and left it laying in my yard for me to pick up! I had one heck of a time getting them back to clean up the mess. I had to threaten because they came on my property without permission. Glad it worked out good for you.

If the tree fell due to their equiptment then they are responsible. Otherwise it's the owners responsibility. If it was blown onto their lines then they had to move it I would say it's their responsibility somewhat. That's a touchy area actually. Glad it did for you as well. Wow, I think you're very lucky that they didn't mess with those lights. Usually utility companies work like they own the ground their standing on and have no regard for anything around them. That's very nice of you to send them a little note to show your appreciation.

Yeah I was really hoping that they had not touched my precious Christmas lights. HAHAHAHA! I turned them on to be sure they all still worked after getting home and it was dark. Some companies are like that not caring for others property. I was fortunate. That's why I am going to write the company a letter in thanks and praise of a well done job. That's nice to hear. Good for the electric company to have acknowledged the damage that their equipment has done and volunteered to repair your lawn. And their work is well worth the month long wait, no?:P

They originally said one weeks time to repair it. It took a month but it's done. I figured they'd wait till the spring as it's cold now here. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

It's about time they finally got that done! And it looks like they did a really awesome job too. And the fact that they left your Christmas lights alone shows that they actually do have some courteous employees working for them! I'm so happy for you hon.

That's great that your lawn finally got repaired but one question..Isn't it a lil too late to be laying down sod? I know you're supposed to water sod like crazy till it takes real good and with winter nipping our heels... But, anyways, glad to hear it's done and over with.
