Now that I am officially a senior citizen (on Medicare and all that stuff) I got a flu shot today. I was lucky last year and didn't get the flu, but I didn't want to take a chance again. I need to stay well not only for me, but to take care of my husband and not infect him! Do you get a flu shot every year? Have you gotten one this year yet?

I've been recieving the shot for many years. One reason is because I'm a caregiver of the eldery (dad) and the main reason is due to my respitory problems. I have bronchial asthma. I'm 53 not senior yet. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

My whole family had the annual flu shots. But of course, as you now know, I'm sure, we ALL came down with the flu. 2 of us had worse cases. I was bedridden for amost 2 weeks! I am 90% better now, but it was Feb. 10th I came down with it. Ugh. But I'll keep getting it done.

Sometimes people get the flu from the shot! It sure sounds like that happened in your family! Thanks for the reply.

Good to hear back from you (though 3 months later, hee hee). Gladly I am flu free (for now!). Have read so many articles how this was a mega flu year with deaths nationally. :o( We'll cross our fingers for next year! :o)

Hey that's great. Now all you have to do is hope and pray and cross your fingers that you don't contract any of the strains of influenza (flu) NOT covered by your shot. Of the many strains floating around the world, the flu shot only protects you against certain ones....be careful.

Yes, I got my flu shot this week. I have occasionally in the past, but this year I did because one it was covered by my insurance, and two, they told me I was high risk. And hey, if something is free, why not take it? LOL

Yeah, flu shot is the important thing to have once yearly. I get it every fall. That way I do not get sick at all.
