Good morning, The Worm, Your Honour, The Crown will plainly show, The prisoner who now stands before you, Was caught red-handed showing feelings. Showing feelings of an almost human nature. This will not do. Call the schoolmaster! ~The Trial, Pink Floyd It seems yet another school has decided that it's too much trouble teaching human kids, so they have made one giant leap towards making automatons of the students. Any school that would punish a kid for trying to console a friend has no right to exist as a educational institution. Stop the meat grinder, take back our schools and insist they educate our kids instead of "re-educate" them!

What happens if you are caught hugging? Are you suspended?Expelled? Back when I was in school,100 years ago, if I saw a friend , we would hug. I remember hugging one of my beautiful male friends outside near the bleechers. My friends got me through high school. If all I had to do to be kicked out of school, at least for one or two days, was to hug a friend, i would have never graduated. I would have been sent home and I would have loved every moment of it. It is like they are trying to make every rule to " weed" out all the unwanted kids. The ones who have feelings, the ones who think outside the box,the ones who are a little slower or faster than their class. This way they can just teach to the test.

Yeah, me and my friends that were girls were big on hugs too. I was in one club, we ate lunch in the club room, and it was common to see girls sitting on guys laps and people giving each other backrubs. School administrators have lost their minds.

Times haven't changed, but somehow the kids who got to enjoy being a kid grew up to be parents afraid of the kids own shadows.

I agree... the schools are spending far too much time and effort over things that have no important as an excuse to not have to do the job of teaching. They are so busy trying to be politically correct social engineers that real education is no longer occurring. We need to get rid of the DOE and put the schools back under local control of the communities where they are located. The highest power that the schools answer to should be the State Board of Education, while the schools are run at the community level. Barring that, then I am for closing the schools and going to either home schooling or alternative community based schooling. Our education system is broken, and it needs to be rebuilt from the ground up.

Exactly! Why can't Johnny read? Because his teacher spent too much time on global warming, ozone holes and the evils of being human. With all that, who has time to get around to teaching kids how to read and write?

Yeh ted, just when you think we've hit the bottom of the barrel, lo and behold, there is a whole other barrel underneath it. HUGS??????? I couldn't believe it either, I saw 2 cases of this reported in the last 24 hours. And yet in another report, a school yearbook was perfectly ok with electing a lesbian, 15 year old couple as "cutest couple" in their yearbook. I'm SO glad my daugthter graduates next year, I just feel sorry for my grandchildren. thank god my eldest daughter has already opted to homeschool their kids.

Yup, I'm glad my kids are done with this crap too. By the time our grandkids get there, the cesspool will be unliveable.

I thought I saw something about that this morning but didn't get a chance to read it. I can't believe how stupid even the education system is getting these days. Then they wonder why we have so many problems with kids...duh!
