My son have had a ringworm on his head for about three months now. I have tried everything including bleach, sulfide soap and some other different lotion the doctor prescribed him..but it seems to not going away. Does anyone has ideas on how to cure a ringworm? Some say that there is no cure others say that there is a way to get rid of it...but to me, I can not figure out what to use in my son's case to relief him from it.

I had a small patch on my right cheekbone. I just used a cheap and generic topical cream my doctor prescribed, washed often, and keep my face in good condition. After 1.5 weeks, the ringworm disappeared and hasn't come back since. You can search the web for home remedies, some are supposedly more effective than most conventional means. But I think the most important thing is the keep the area affected clean and in good condition. Remember, ringworm thrives in moist, hot, and hidden from light. Prevent these conditions, while applying topical cream or other methods, and the ringworm should at least improvement.

Wow for three months he has had the ringworm on his head. That is so contagious I hope he didnt spread it to anyone else or had it get worse. I had a friend in school who had ringworm on her arm once and she had to use some kind of ointment on it for it to go away. I knew a girl at school when I was young who had it for months on her legs. It was HUGE and she had to keep it covered so while the rest of us had to wear shorts for gym class she had to wear sweat pants.

Hi, I work in a boarding school, where I acquired impetigo which is also a fungus infection like ringworm. The doctors will prescribe a formaldehyde cream that needs to be applied several times a day, BUT I have found that white vinegar that kills 99% of fungus and germs (like bleach but much kinder) will do the job, but without bombarding your skin with a toxic chemical. If you apply the vinegar at least 4 times a day, and even more if you can, then it will dry up very quickly. hope it helps.

Thats really neat to know. I always love to know different home remedies. I plan to take my daughter to the doctor tomorrow to have him look at it and see if it really is ringworm. I think by the way it looks that it is for sure but I just want to take her and have it looked at in case its not and maybe if its not that she would need a different ointment for whatever it is.

I would use tea tree oil. It will take care of it right away. You can find it at any health food stores, or even at a wal mart. This may take a couple weeks to go away but you should see improvement within a day or two. Good luck. :)
