I think the punishment is light. What is everyone elses opinion?

Yes, punishment is too light for anyone convicted of animal cruelty. I am in a situation where someone is harming my feral cat colony. In the first place, you have to catch the person, somehow, in the act of hurting an animal, and it is difficult to prove. If that person is convicted and does go to jail, he will only be there for a short time. When he gets out of jail, he will probably be angrier than before. It is a two-edged sword.
