the best discussions in mylot...

for the best discussions in mylot, my vote goes for those who are sharing personal experiences. these topics are full of emotions like joy, sadness, despair, etc. and they move me to the soul. more than those survey questionnaires that ask us what we prefer and those questions that require yes or no answers, i appreciate real writing--those that relate their life experiences in this forum. and i believe they generate more responses because they are very interesting. and i believe that people are more connected because of the emotions conveyed in these topics. we share the anguish of someone in grief and we congratulate someone who shares good news. we also talk abuot topics that affect our world and the area that we live in. we share our concerns about money and such. this is a wonderful place and i say thumbs up to those who are sharing their lives here. God bless us all! more power to mylot and all mylotters! :-)

I think that share personal experiences is good, and it is a way to relief your soul... sometimes it is easier to tell someone you do not know what is in you mind and your heart... but I also enjoy answering surveys questions... Overall, to me what I like about Mylot it is the oportunity to share with people that probably I will never meet without mylot...

"sometimes it is easier to tell someone you do not know what is in you mind and your heart" oh that is so true terry...there is no fear of intimidation and judgment because we don't know each other personally. this is a sanctuary.:-)

yup..i completely agree..sometimes it's easier to share to those you dont know...maybe because you dont get intimidated by the face that the people u know may criticize you more, than those hu doesnt know you,,,

I for one have shared more here than I do with most. I also feel that by reading something that someone else is going through and responding with my heart makes me feel like maybe I'm helping someone. Helping people is my mission, every time I help someone, I feel better. When I feel better, I don't think about the things that I have been through as much. It's a win, win situation here on MyLot :-)

Hey there Stanzi2007. Those were very kind words you had there in your reply. You sound like you love to give just like I do. Doesn't it feel great? I think the times that you give and the person receiving doesn't know it was you are even better. I love to do that. BTW, I do donate my time to the veterans. I love the stories they tell.

dear girlgonefishing, what a lovely statement!!can you just imagine, if everyone in the world held your sentiments. there would never have been war, famine, hostility, etc. if we could all practice compassion with others as you are, we could end the iraq war and all wars, disagreements with family members, friends, enemies etc. compassion is all that is needed. if we practice just one act of compassion per day, even a random act of compassion, like helping a bird with a broken wing, or helping a homeless veteran (national news 2 day said 1 in 4 veterans of USA wars are homeless in USA today) we will be a much kinder and loving society at large. in fact if anyone has a little extra over the holidays i think it should go to the 1 in 4 homeless USA veterans, who fought for the united states citizens for our freedoms, that we share today. even if we just send a little contribution to our local veterans administration hospital, or if we have nothing extra to give,we can give the gift of t i m e. go and sit with a veteran at the local VA hospital and just listen to his conversation and show some compassion, respect for what he/she did in the war, and above all else show and convey your respect to them for their sacrifices. happy holidays to all mylot users!!!! stanzi

Well , i agree with you completely . I have just started using mylot (but i have registered for it some 2-3 months ago) ,ya really fantastic atmosphere . I am getting some really cool discussions that match my interests . And at times , i also come across with discussions that are merely written for money as you have mentioned - in other other words they are not real . But there are some great writers and bloggers here at mylot who produces some really cool discussions and are also active around here . Hats off to these guys . I really appreciate them . Last but not least you have done a great job starting this discussion.

dear spoiled, u r so right. i was thinking the same thing, the other day, people on this mylot do seem so real, and do convey so many emotions. look up my response to uath, under discussion with no responses. i tell an emotional story about the arrest of my friend's daughter in the late 90's. she was kidnapped at a robbery and the end result, of being held hostage, beaten etc. held at gunpoint by the young man robber in a motel 50 plus miles away from the crime scene. check it out. but again, you are right that the people on mylot are a special and lovely group of people in one place to talk with. my experince is a very positive one with mylot, for sure. i second your declaration: power to mylot and mylotters!!!!!! stanzi2007
