What is the house of your dreams?

The house of my dreams is something that is big enough for me and my husband to move around in comparably without much maintenance whatsoever. It is important that this house be wheelchair accessible in every room. I do not need to live in a mansion nor do I care to. Keeping up with all the maintenance would be a nightmare in my opinion on all levels. The bottom line is that my dream home is a place where I can be myself without having to worry about whether the bank is going to foreclose on it. That is why my dream home will be purchased and not mortgage because when the bank is involved then your home is not really yours to begin with. Having ownership is important in making mortgage payments is not something that I will allow myself to get involved in when it comes to buying my dream home. So tell me... what is the house of your dreams?

That sounds wonderful and it's good to know exactly what makes your dream house because imagery is a huge part of dreaming. As I read the words above I can tell that the simple things in life are what's important to you with regards to your dream house. Just know that I only you can make your dreams a reality so the next time somebody tells you dreams do not come true just believe in yourself and show them proof that they are so wrong. I have been told over the past several months that I will never be able to make my dream house a reality and next year it is my goal to focus on proving these individuals quite wrong and I look forward to seeing the looks on their faces when my dream house is no longer a dream anymore.

I really like the description of your dream house because it shows compassion and caring qualities along with appreciation which is a respectable quality indeed. I don't know about you, but when I watch television and see all these celebrities with million-dollar mansions it makes me sick to my stomach because most of the time they feel as though they are superior to people like us who do appreciate the things in life that matter most. I thank you very much for your post and I wish you much luck in the future with bringing your dream house to life and reality.

well, the house of my dreams is a small one, not several stories high, just a bungalow that can accommodate the master's bedroom, and each one for a chid--and oh may be a guest room. it would have two baths, a rather wide living room, and of course, a lovely garden with a pond and a swing. it has to be surrounded with grasses and trees, too.:-) i want it to be predominantly made of wood, but with the light color brown, not the antique look. then there would be splashes of green in the furniture and through the plants around. oh...how i wish.:-)

I love reading things like this. The imagery is incredible and I can tell that you have a very creative mind just by reading the description of what your dream house would end up being. I hope that you have the chance to make his dream come true in the future.

this is an interesting topic, since i studied the analogy of individual's dreamed house that reflect it's person's dreams please allow me to analyze your dream house before i describe my dream house =) 1. the house is big enough -- u have a big heart for you and your husband 2. without much maintenance -- u're a simple person, and not materialistic on choosing your spouse 3. wheelchair accessible -- u have big empathy on others 4. high maintenance = nightmare -- u are not an optimist person 5. don't need a mansion -- repetition on point two 6. be your self and don't have to worry about the banks gonna foreclose it -- somehow, u're not being authentic right now, and you really want to be yourself in the future 7. purchased your own house -- u're on a significant level of possessiveness with your spouse well, that's what i can analyze about you from your house, no offense, it's just im tickles to practice what i have studied ... is it correct according to you ? =) my dream house is a house that made from woods, in the grass and flower fields, near the lake or have some small pools on it. The it has low fences with no lock, big door and window, have two floor, big enough for my family and my friends that comes by, filled with exotic and possibly antique ornament ... i want my house to radiates warm and loving sphere for everyone that visits there ...

I am never offended by anyone that chooses to analyze anything whether it be a house of my dreams or not. I would say that you were 90% correct in your analysis. I am not authentic. I am honest and will always be simply because that is the person I am. My statement made on not worrying about the banks foreclosing is based on currently not having a home as of yet, but with plans to have one in the future without dealing with any financial institution that pretty much wants to rob you blind today with interest rates. And as far as I'm concerned, it is better to save the money until you have enough to buy it in cash.

Hi,there! I would like to have a house which is neither too big nor small. I don't need a too big house. If it's enough to stay and doesn't look squeezed, then that's all right. The house in my dream should have two floors. All the decorations in my house are designed by myself. There's one room for doing sports, one room for holding a party or dance, one study room for daily studying or reading as well as working, one bedroom of course. There's a beautiful garden in front of the house so that I can plant flowers or vegetables there by myself:)

Is it not amazing how creative the mind can be when you start to dream? All those things that you mention above about your dream house speaks volumes about the type of person you are. I am not going to analyze your words, but I can definitely sense that like others so far, you are not greedy about wanting things in attempts to impress people. The simplicity is clear here and personally I can see that happening for you as long as you have two things mastered and that is persistency and tenacity. You will not be able to go wrong with those skills mastered. I hope that this makes sense to you. Thank you for your response and I wish you much success in the future and keep dreaming.

I am glad you like this discussion. To be quite honest, I did not set out to create a popular topic of discussion, but it looks like it has taken on a life of its own. This goes to show you that everybody has a dream house they would like to have in order to bring pure happiness and peace to their lives. Don't get me wrong, I am not a person who thrives on material things, but I do realize the importance of the dream itself and that is why I initially started this discussion. I wish you much luck in the future and maybe you like everyone else will make your dream house a reality someday.

The house of my dreams would be a big four bedroomed detached house away from big cities or towns, preferably in the countryside or by the sea. With a big indoor swimming pool and games room as well as a big office to store all my computer equipment. I would love a big kitchen and a big tv screen to watch all my movies! Maybe one day I will get my house, I can hope!

That sounds wonderful. Maybe one day this dream home will become a reality home for you. I believe that we all control our destiny to make our dreams a reality. For the past several years I have dreamed about the house I described in my previous introduction to this topic and I believe that maybe next year I will have the chance to make that a reality for myself. The important thing here is to start with a dream house and then work towards making it a reality. Whatever you do, never stop dreaming about having such a house. Having something to work towards is something I truly believe gives us the power to open our minds to many other things such as having a dream car. Like everything else in life, nobody else will ever have the same dream house, but it is creative to put down in words exactly what you want your dream house to be that says a lot about the person you are and what matters to you.

Nice discussion, we can dream a little bit today. I would like to have hours with a huge bedroom and huge bathroom near ir.Also two separate kids room and two guests room. Living room with fireplace and also nice winter garden and also one for summer. I would like to have a swimming pool and griling place for me and my friends and a little gym. It would be not too close to the city, but also not so far from it either.

Ever since I was alittle girl I have loved log homes. My dream home would be a log home with a wrap around porch and a fireplace. It would need four bedrooms. That way my daughters and grandchildren could visit.

I would love to have a two story house in the city, close to my work. Save as much gas in the future since the price is not going to go down.

This dream house sounds reasonable to me. I hope that one day you can make this dream house a reality for yourself. I definitely plan on making my dream house a reality as soon as I save up enough money to be able to make it happen. :)

The house of my dreams would have a enough gagage space to house all my cars. I am car mad. It would be heated and have a tiled floor and spot lights in the ceiling. It would also have a large front garden/driveway so that the house is set well back from the road. The only requirement for the house would be a large kitchen and at least four bedrooms and an extra room for my vast collection of model cars.
