What charity/charities do you support?

I'm just curious what charities you guys regularly give support to? Why did you choose that particular charity? My husband and I are World Vision sponsors. We help 2 kids finish school by sending a monthly support of PhP450 for each. What I like about WV is that, your money does not directly go to the child, but is coursed through pooled funds for the whole project area so that the community benefits as well. For example, there are medical provisions and livelihood projects for the parents so that they will someday be self-sufficient and able to provide for their children themselves. Sponsors receive yearly progress reports on how their sponsored children are doing. It is nice to see great changes in the child every year because you'll see how she has grown taller and look healthier. In a nutshell, you will really know where your money goes. It is heartwarming to know that in our little way, we are empowering a little child to strive to succeed in life.
