This weekend we are giving away Cars to Domestic Violence Survivors in my home town. In our state, we recieved 10 cars to be donated to victims of abuse and 5 other cars were donated to Charity Cars for the parts to help rebuild other cars. This is an excellent organization and they do so much to help. Have you ever participatd with Charity Cars? www.LavenderPower.org

That is amazing! Do you work for a domestic violence agency? I wonder if my state, Michigan, participates in this...

I am the Co-Founder of www.LavenderPower.org. Lavender Power got involved supporting Charity Cars after I found out that our City had been selected as one of the cities across the nation to get to participate. If you would want to try to get it to your area, contact a Bumper to Bumper Part's Store in your area. Or car Charity Cars at 1-800-Charity Cars. It's a nation wide Charity Campaign and their pledge is to refurbish at least 500 cars a year to give away. The trick is to get the cars donated. It takes a lot of dedication from many people to get the cars, get them refurbished and find victims that qualify for these vehicles. But is really a good cause. When they give these cars away, The first year's insurance and registration is paid by Charity cars, so this really helps the women recieving these cars to get back on their feet, working starting a new life for themself and their children. If you don't have it in your area, I hope you can make the right contacts to get it there. Our Bumper to Bumper Dealers are here are great and are really dedicated to keeping it here. Safe Hugs www.LavenderPower.org

I haven't seen any of the articles, but I do know it was a wonderful event and the women were so deserving. My daughter and I took a lady from here in Sumter down to get one of the cars that she had been given. Boy was that an experience...We stayed and shopped afterwards ,she stayed too, because she had never driven out of town before. She needed to follow us home. I am not sure if you have been to the new tangler outlet, but at the red light to get on the interstate, her car stalled. Don't get me wrong, it was a beautiful well kept car. But when they did all the refurbishing to the engine that it needed, it seems that one of the lines was loose. She got it started and got on the interstated, when I called her, she said it seemed it was over heating so off the exit we went Ashley phosphate if your familiar. The busiest exit in Charleston of course. We had to call the Director of Bumper to Bumper. Unfortunately we had to bring her home with us, without her car. Bumper to Bumper came and got the car and towed it back to the garage. The Best news is...Rick is bring it to Sumter Tomorrow as a suprise for her. All that was wrong with it was the line going to the coolant system came loose. Man was it a LONG DAY for us. But even with everything that happened, it was a GREAT DAY! Even the lady the had to leave her new car, agrees. I am so looking forward to working with it again next year and I hope you can get your Bumper to Bumper Dealers involved in it there. Let me know if I can help you with it. Remember I use to live up there, so I still have some contacts with some business owners that would maybe help sponsor the event.

Hey Lavender my niece emailed me that Charleston is having their charity Car give away tomorrow. Are you going down there for that. She said it was at the Tangler Outlet. She said the news stated that they had 9 cars giving away tomorrow. That is such a wonderful thing. I really want to get it up here next year.

Yes I will be there...I am actually taking a lady from My home town down there to pick up a car that they are giving to her. She is so excited. It is such a heart touching experience to see these women being handed over the keys to their very own vehicle. They are just so thankful. She is really nervus about driving back she siad it has been so long since she has had a vehicle to drive, and then she has to drive all the way back from Charleston. She wanted to make sure that I would stay and let her follow me back. She said she has never driven out soud of town before. This is going to be such a treat for her. I'll try to take some picks and put them on the myspace and then we will also follow up withthe Survivor Successor Emag with her story and pics. I hope you can get it in your area next year. It has been a great thing to work with these people. They are really passionate about what they are doing and want to really make a difference inthe lives of these women that have been abused. Safe Hugs and Good Night! It's been a long day and I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow. I am going to miss my Buck's. Are you still a Buck Fan now that you are in SC? Our big game is next week. We'll be cheering for the same team again! That is if your not a MI Fan. I hope not...I enjoy talking to you LOL
