Another change but I've gone the pills route......

I have my prescription of Meridia which at first the drug plan refused to cover because I didn't meet the criteria. They figured my BMI was at 23 and they weren't going to approve the drug no matter what the doctors reasons may have been in prescribing them. They double checked the numbers with my doctor and realised there was an error on the authorization form.
I'm sort of excited about the prospect of hyper-focusing on myself and working towards my old weight. It seems like it was ages ago that I fit into my clothes but when I think seriously, it was only 2 months since the weight became a big problem.
My husband keeps asking to take me shopping for new clothes, particularly slacks that fit and I am standing firm in my refusal to buy anything that fits this current size when I have several closets full of beautiful clothes I can wear if I only lose 30 pounds.
My last shopping spree was mid summer and I really splurged and bought just about everything my little heart desired. I still have outfits I never wore so buying bigger clothes is not going to fit into this equation.
Thirty pounds.... it isn't really THAT much but it might as well be 300 because of how hard I work to eat healthy and live a balanced lifestyle. The only thing out of balance is the amount of stress I'm under, but I think I'm refocusing on my de-stressing techniques and should be back on track in no time.
As for the weight loss?
I'm hoping to reach my goals within 6 months and will be seeing the doctor for the first follow-up weight assessment December 22nd.

The date of your post was two weeks ago. You have been on the medicine for at least two weeks now, how do you like it? How much weight have you lost?
I was on this medication for a month because my insurance would not approve it. And I could not afford it any longer. I did lose weight on it though.
Let us know how you are doing.

Thanks for asking sherrir101
Today is day 20 on the pills and I have lost 14 pounds so far. I'm still eating less than 1,000 calories each day (I know that's bad) and the only real change I've made is to add breakfast and stop eating cheese...
I miss cheese!

I wish you luck. I have found that if someone tells me to buy clothes loose, because I need to lose weigh, it has the opposite effect, I have to eat to fit the clothes. I have not tried any pills to lose weight since the time my husband told me about Oxycut which made me rather dopey and lethargic. If I had been rather energetic I would have been able to adjust. So now I hope when I get enough money to try Slimquik. And losing weight is not as easy as one thinks. You have to lose calories but you also have to eat as well.

That's the hard part of losing weight...you can't just give it up because your very survival depends on it. It's quite the balancing act.

I have a friend who is on this med. She really likes it and has lost some weight. I am not sure how much though. She has bought a few new clothes though. Her old stuff was just way too baggy. Her husband says it is like a whole new wife. LOL.

That's fabulous.
I can't wait to lose some of the weight and fit into my old clothes - but I just want to give my hubby his old wife back LOL
