Teachers are jubilant over a holiday - Well, teachers are also human beings, and any holiday will mean added rest days for them, instead of the usual Saturdays and Sundays. Of course, parents and students are equally happy...
Everyone is happiest---the students, the parents, and oopps...you forgot the teachers...he, he, he. Of course, teachers would welcome it more because it means an added rest day for them, to be with their families, or to do things they can only do on weekends. Of course, the most expressive are the students, as you can hear shouts of joy from them once the holiday is announced. But you just don't know that teachers are likewise overjoyed...they just don't show or express it openly. You know why I know it? You guess it...I am a teacher too. Been one for over 20 years, so....

Both my son and I were happy when holidays were declared because we got to spend more time with each other. But now with the little one at home and taking all my time and energy, my older son is the only one who is happy with a holiday. Days when both the kids are home are crazy for me now and I miss all those holidays that I made good use of with my older son.

Dear Bala, As a child I can remember that my grandma used to be very happy followed by my mom when there was a holiday. It used to be a day without the hassle of getting us (we are 3 sisters - all with 2 years age differences)dressed up, packing tiffin boxes, taking us to the bus stop where the school bus used to come and fetch us and again gathering us from the same place, making us refreshments and escorting us to the nearest play ground and then preparing us for the home task, packing our school bags for the next day, ironing our clothes and brushing our shoes....it was endless!! Quite a job!! And all this were done by my mom and grandma. My father was nowhere in the scene!! Obviously a day off from this drudgery would made them very happy and relaxed. However, we learned to do our stuffs at a young age and I bet that was a great relief for the women of the house. As for me, I did not like holidays, I still do not. Have a great day. PS: Hope you had a blast yesterday.

Yes it was great yesterday. How was your Diwali Mimpi? As a Parent I look forward to the holidays more than my daughter. For that extra one hour of sleep and everything that follows after that and the less driving work.

We as a Parents are least happy (we being a working couple.....children school closure causes lots of problems and re-scheduling for us). I think children are happier than us. Good Post!

All Children are for sure the happiest, its vacation time, more sleep and play, gifts, new dress. Parents are happy also but i believe its scary to them for this means a lot of expenses.

i thinks both are most happiest. because now parents get time to stay more with their child and childrens will also get happy because they got some relief or some type of stay from studies.

Offcourse its the children who are happy more than parents when they have holidays..when i was in school we students in class always eagerly await whether we get holiday or working day for saturday during the last period on friday..parents dont have the tension to wake up early and in making the children get ready to leave for school.

I think children are happier because they get to sleep longer and take a break from school.

I cannot say for 'both' here as your nice and good question has addressed me the word "or", so I have to choose for one and only. My answer will be for children, children is the most happiest person or group when school declares a holiday. Because they know their parents have plan something like happy events for them. At least for long days of vacation and not less for one good reason, to visit their grand parents at home town. Matter of facts that is the most thing to educate our children to love their blood ancestor(if any). In the mean time teaching them to bring their children to visit their parents in future.
