A 12 years old child in Davao, Philippines ended her life because of Poverty. The child was a grade 6 pupil and she complained that she was not able to go to school because her family don't have money to give her. The child decided to end her life she because she want to end all the sufferings she experinced. On November 01, she hanged herself inside ther house. The story of this girl represents the masses who is not living decently and bellow poverty line.

OMG this is so sad, no child in this world should have to go with out, this is why I am agains all this space travel and of course wars, we should fix this world up so no one suffers especially the children, we should stop all the space travel until we get our own house in order first, things like what this little girl did should be a wake up call to the world...

I am sorry to hear that doleful story, toteles. But I miss to have that weblink if any. So that I can thoroughly read the whole set of it. It really confused me, toteles. Why didn't the school principal visit her and her family after she did not attend to school. And where were all the politician people? Who always visit poor people before any general election date? May peace be upon her in the next life!!!.

It is really sad and disturbing that children are to be forced to poverty. I beleive there should be more of responsible parenthood programs. Community interactions and to address potential problens such as this kind to happen again. I pray that the barrangay officials recently elected be more sensitive and helpfull in addressing the less fortunate neighbors or have a livelihood program enough to put food on each familys table.

Well its normal story in India, i fell sorry for that child, but life is all about struggling and come over that, govt. is helping the people below the poverty line by providing shelter, food and free education but it not availble to all the peoples.

This is such a sad story. To think she believed she had to end her life because of the lack of family funds is pitiful. Kids will always make fun of other kids for one reason for another. My experience has been that around 12 or 13, kids can be visious and mean about another's dress code. Guess the poor, little girl couldn't handle the suffering any longer. My sympathy to her family.

That is so sad. I have complained in my past about being poor, but never to that extent. I feel sorry for the parents. They must be going through so much pain right now.

This is very sad for the girl in age of 12. I just wish each kid had oportunity to go to the school and it would not depend on people's money. I have one friend from Philippines and she was tellimg me story about herself, how hard the life is there and how she have to leave family and go soon to the work, just earn money and support other her sisters and brothers , but I have never though about it the way, someone would hang herself. So sad..

That is a horrible thing, and equally horrible are all the others who are quietly starving and wasting away in the world. All the worlds governments could end this in such a short amount of time, if they would concentrate on it.

There are many similar cases in our country--China. I think the society should give its hand to the little girl. Everyone in the society should do what they can to help her. But, how to say, there are too many similar people. Government can't take everything in consider. What the poor people should do is working hard to find a way out. I don't think the girl should commit suiside, since she is still young, she can earn money by her own hand, she should have work hard, right??
