So, I went to the doctor on Thursday...

because I needed a flu shot. But there was this little spot under my eye that I had been watching for a while. It had started as a red, puffy place, didn't hurt or anything. Then, practially over night, it went from red & puffy to small, hard & white. Now, I wasn't sure what this was, was it a wart? was it something more serious? So, I had the doctor check it. He called it something and offered to freeze it off. Of course I said yes, I'd been picking at it as it was, might as well, pick it off after the freezing! It wasn't cancer, but my mom has had several minor skin cancers on her face so I might be overly worried about these kinds of things. I didn't want to go in just for the spot, since it wasn't changing - yet, but also because I knew I'd need a flu shot pretty quick and the spot had only been like that for a few weeks. So, now I have my flu shot, my tetanus booster AND the spot off. Pretty good for a $20 co-pay huh?

Yeah that is pretty good for a 20.00 co-pay...I would like to give you some advice though concerning the spot under your eye...DO NoT Pick on it since the doc has froze it off......When the doc froze it off it leaves a small white spot, which will turn into a scab, the scab looks yucky but it will fall off , but if you pick it like i did it will either come back or leave a scar...I did this already so i know .I have had that done several times on different spots...I don't know though maybe yours was different, but thats what happened to mine..

Good advice, too bad I didn't get it BEFORE I picked it off! LOL Oh well, I come from a family of "pickers" I was always nagging my mom about picking scabs when I was younger....

LOL I've had the $20 co-pay for some time now. I appreciate that it hasn't changed in quite a while. I don't really care toooooo much if it scars, I've got a scar on my chin already from the mole that was removed.

Yeah, pretty good. I had something on my forehead as a teen that looked like it was tissue growing out of my skin. It wasn't a wart, and the dermatologist didn't know what it was, so he froze it off. He said I can freeze it off or burn it off. I was not going for the burn! LOL

Well, that's good. I don't get flu shots, being of the mind what doesn't kill me only makes me stronger, but I've heard they can be of some help. My aunty had one and it did nothing for her and she ended up sick for 3 months with the flu. The spot under your eye sounds like one I've had for years. Doesn't change or cause irritation so I've left it alone. I get similar spots on my arms and legs too, which I've been told are abnormal skin cells, but not cancerous. these are living in my blood stream and can pop up any where at any time. No biggy, I just gotta becareful not to scratch or they bleed like there is no tomorrow!
