My Modem Fried ! ! !

Anyone else had this happen? I got up yesterday morning and noticed the internet light on my modem was out. Not to much of a biggy. This happens periodicly when they are working on the system. At 6:00 last night it was still out so I called customer service only to get one of those annoying recordings, which finally after about 5 minutes of listening to that, informs me they are closed for the day. I either have to wait until Monday or contact the repair center. That's where I was trying to get to in the first place gggrrr. So I finally get a real person on the phone, who apparently thought there was some easy fix and I wasn't smart enough to figure it out. Just when I was about to reach through my phone and slap him, he decided maybe he should send someone out to look at it.
Well the tech just left with my old modem and now I have a brand new one and internet again YEAH ! ! !

yes some time u face this problem,it might because of bad climatic disorder like thunderstrom and also some time of power fluctuating,mainly when ur using USB hub nad conneted man devices like cam printer and flash driver and wireless devices,so its safe not use computer during these situvations and please use it through the UPS ,it will be safer,and if u r using a router please turn off router when u r not usint hte internet from the power if u turn off computer also if router is turned on it will be still connected to internet so .....

Oh I hate it when things go wrong with my computer and I have to go through the menu's on the phone while I am in a stressed state because unfortunately when thing go wron with might computer I really get stressed and just can't think properly, those recordings and menu's do not help when stressed.

hello mfpsassy, great you allready get your new modem again, about your fried modem, maybe it is because of strike from the lightning, I loss 2 of my regular modem also because of ligtning strike, when i open the modem casing, there is a smell of fire on some of the chipset, wuiw, right now I'm using a phonecell 3g as my modem, wait for the raining season, than the lightning will be scarry me again, I can't live without internet.

it has happened with me also once due to lightning outside .Its too irritating .Being away from internet for a even a day makes me feel annoying . I know your condition being away internet..
