How can one dress preppy?

My school just implemented a strict dress code policy. I want to be able to express a new style in this new kind of surrounding. Im thinking of going preppy. Any suggestions on how to dress preppy?

I think the best way to get an idea is to look at magazines and catalogs. Find the style that you like and go with it. Different people have different opinions of preppy, that will especially depend on your age and genre. My opinion of preppy is nice sweaters, button downs and polo shirts.
