Celebrities getting older...

It's always so weird watching people grow up. It's even weirder when you haven't seen someone in a really long time and you see how much they've changed in all those years. But it's one thing to see friends or family grow up. It's another to watch celebrities, people you admire on television or in movies grow up. You watch seasons of tv shows and watch people age and grow. You watch movies and see actors change and age, where once they played a high school student, then college age...then parents. You even watch the same newscasters every day on the news and as the years go by you even get to watch them age. So who is/(are) the celebrity(ies), be it local or hollywood, that you most amazed/surprised to see age? For me, it's Bill Murray. Everytime I see him now I'm like "OMG he's getting old!". I've grown up watching movies with Bill Murray. When my brother and I were kids my dad painted our bedroom ceiling with the Ghostbusters logo and the phrase "We Came, We Saw, We Kicked A--" and mind you, I was only 2 years old when Ghostbusters came out and 7 when the 2nd one came out. You look at Bill Murray now and he's 57. He's got a not so full head of completely gray hair! Then you look back at Meatballs or Ghostbusters or Caddyshack and it's like... wow. I'm a huge fan of Bill Murray and for me watching him age is the weirdest thing for. Steve Martin would be another one, if it wasn't for the fact that he's had gray hair since he was like 20 so aside from the fact that he's matured, I barely notice that he's aged! What about you? What celebrities are you always surprised to see how much they've aged?

I saw Bill Murray on Letterman a week or so ago, and thought exactly the same thing. He seems to have aged all of a sudden. I guess there are many celebrities that I've seen age - it's part of aging oneself. But, off the top of my head, I can remember Bruce Willis with a full head of hair on 'Moonlighting'. Then he was an action hero, and now he's, well, still an action hero, but a very senior one. Another is Teri Garr. Not sure why she comes to mind - maybe because I recall thinking she was hot, and then saw her in some movie in which she seemed ancient. That's a bit mean I guess. Kudos for her for not getting a lot of face work done and growing old naturally.

I feel the same way about Harrison Ford. I was 7 when Star Wars came out, and now I'm 35. Oh, and Malcolm McDowell. He has *really* aged. George Takei, William Shatner, they have changed so much over the years.

Oh Harrison Ford is a good one! I wasn't even born yet when the first (sorta ha ha) Star Wars came out! But I was looking at photos the other day for the new Indiana Jones movie, I laughed at Shia LaBeouf looking all tough on a motorcycle with Harrison Ford behind him! But I was like wow... he's really gotten older! All of yours are good choices too. It's like, duh people get older but it's just so weird to see someone you've grown up watching get older you know. William Shatner has also had an interesting career over the years, ha ha.

For me was Farrah Fawcett. She was one of Charlies Angels. She was pin girl and everybody on street wanted to look like her. I saw her years later and...OMG...she didn't look old, just so diffrent and not pretty at all....big shock.....

Ha ha, I know who Farrah Fawcett is. Everyone wanted the hairstyle right? That's what I remember. But all in all I still think she looks the same... She really has aged though that's for sure. Unlike Jaclyn Smith, who I think is the only Angel that still looks good.

You got to give props to the celebrities who age naturally though. No matter how badly they age. Diane Keaton is someone I don't think has aged well and she's on all of those commercials about skin care to age well!

Humm...I've been trying to think on this one since yesterday. One of the reasons I love going back and watching the Charmed episodes from the beginning and also Gilmore Girls is too see how much they've aged just from the start of the shows. It's also great to watch old movies that stars are in to see what they use to look like and how good or bad getting older has been for them. But I don't really know who it's weird about for me. Brad Pitt is aging but he still looks great. I guess it's weird to see George Clooney getting older because he's starting to look not so great anymore. I've been following Kirsten Dunst career since Interview with a Vampire but it's not so weird that she's older. I guess it would have to be the Olsen twins. Since I loved (okay I still do like it) to watch Full House and all. And with their age they've accumulated a bunch of issues to go along with it. So that is really strange. I suppose once Dakota Fanning grows up I'll be like that too. OH - Haley Joel Osment is a strange one to watch growing up. He looks so different now than he did in "The Sixth Sense". I mean of course you can tell it's him but...

Oh George had gotten better looking with age. It just seems now he's starting to look really old. I'm older than the Olsens too. They're actually my younger sisters age - which might have something to do with it because it freaks me out sometimes how old she is. My parents had me when they were 16 and I still think of them as fairly young LOL. It freaked me out a bit at first when I learned that Brad Pitt was my dads age!

Ha Ha that is weird. Bill Murray is older than my parents, but not by much. I only have an older brother so I never really watched anyone grow up but cousins and I only saw them once a year so it was no big deal really.

I think the older George Clooney gets the better he looks actually! Ha ha. I don't know, his looks haven't gotten to me yet. I don't know, see none of those people really bother me. I guess because I was older than the Olsens and that's more like watching your cousin or something growing up. I guess to me, Bill Murray is like realizing one day how old your parents are. You know? It's like your parents have you when they're in thier 20's (at least mine did) and now you're in your 20's and they're in their 50's. It's just like... wow, you're old! ha ha.

Bill Murray would be one of mine too. I'm a huge fan of his and I saw him on Yahoo recently and I dunno, it's just weird seeing him look so old. Chevy Chase has aged a lot too. Mel Brooks is another one that surprises me everytime I see him. I know he's old, but he has seriously done some aging. Him and Gene Wilder. You grow up with these people in a sense, so it's weird seeing them from old movies and then seeing them now. Like with Mel Brooks. He totally still rocks Schwartz in my book though.

Maybe that's what it is about Chevy Chase. He's plumped up. John Candy was awesome and always will be. As far as 80s movies go, we will keep them in are hearts forever! Ha ha. The 80s rocked. Bring back the days of good movies!!!

Chevy Chase has gotten kinda... chubby? That's the only thing I really notice about him. But Bill Murray! Yeah he's really aged. Oh I didn't even think about either one of those other two! Gah! Watching them get older in some ways kind of makes me think that I'm getting old or something... and I just don't want them to get old. Man, movies and stuff from the 80's rocked! why can't we just freeze time and live in the 80's forever!?

I bought the goonies today speaking of 80's :p Yeah Chevy Chase has plumped up. So has John Goodman. He's gotten super large. It makes me sad cause it's not healthy!

i was reading magazine today and see there a Melisa Sue Anderson who was playing in the Little house on the Prairie and I was really surprised that she is already 45 years old. Also i love to watch some show with my mum and she would always says like oh my god I cannot believe how old she got. And I am like mum, you not getting younger either. But also have to admit some actors are old but look stil young.

Wow. Yeah I never watched little house but I can understand how weird that is. That's like thinking about the fact that like Candace Cameron is married with kids, cause I'm pretty sure she is and I mean, she was DJ on full house! It's really weird, makes you kinda feel old...or realize you're old! ha ha.
