That's what the image on myLot for Politics is and it's also what 23% of those polled think about our current President. So I thought it would be interested to take an informal poll here; do you think George W. Bush is the worst President ever? Let's see if the results here are close to those of the national poll recently reported on the news.

Are you sure you're not an undercover worker for the government, anniepa? LOL In all honesty, I would have to say that I rate the current President's performance lower than any of the previous ones I have known.

Trust me, Worldwise1, if I were an undercover worker for the government I'd have been locked away somewhere and waterboarded by now! Valerie Plame would seem to be the Administration's favorite next to me.
I'm with you, this President is definitely the worse of my lifetime, or at least since I've been old enough to pay attention. Love those "Great Moments in Presidential Speeches" Letterman does!

He is one of them. But the worst? We have had so many presidents that it would be hard to pick the worst or the best. And there are so many different Americans with different opinions. There are some Americans that think that Lincoln was the best. And others think he wasn't.So if we can't even agree on the best, how can we agree on the worst?

In my opinion, Bush is definitely not the best president we have ever had. As for worst, I do not feel I can make that assessment yet. I do not feel Congress has done the best job either. I feel that focus needs to be placed more at home than on Iraq these days. We have a lot of problems here i.e. environment, health insurance, rising fuel prices, education, and so forth that need our attention more than the rest of the world at times.

Annie, when you tally the results, hopefully after a great MANY responses, please make sure to count only those from the U.S. since the percentage you give is only a percentage of U.S. citizens. some, though not all, I believe are simply on a bandwagon.
It is alrady well knowmn how the country feels about him, he may not be the worst president but he certainly is one of the most disliked. I don't think the 2 distinguishings are nessesarily interchangable. Roosavely had horrid aproval ratings as did Lincoln and they are today considered 2 of the great ones. I guess in the end, only histor is going to truly answer that question.
My vote for worst president in recent history would be Carter; Iran, the gas lines (remember those?), unprecidented inflation, reccession, low national and international moral. The list is endless, I've only listed a few.

As for those of you who mention the President who fooled around with an intern - let's put this in perspective. Bill Clinton's actions did not put our country in peril. The one who should be most concerned is the individual who may be our next President! Our country was in great shape during the Clinton administration. Now on to the subject at hand - is George W. Bush the worst president ever. That's a huge title & I'm not so sure that he is deserving of that. BUT, I would go so far as to say that he is one of the worst presidents we have seen. He is cocky & thinks that what he is doing is right no matter what anyone else says. We have the mess in Iraq, the economy, high gas prices, the way he handled Katrina & continues to mishandle it, not to mention the Bushies he has working for him. If you haven't guessed, I'm no fan of George W, however, I wouldn't go so far as to call him the worst president ever.

I disagree with what G Bush and his policies, but I'm not sure if we can necessarily call him the "worst". LB Johnson basically screwed up Vietnam as much as Bush is screwing up Iraq. Then Nixon tried in Vietnam for a while before deciding to give up. Then he was shot down with the Watergate Scandal.
Going way back in history, Andrew Johnson was considered a terrible president who overused and possibly even abused his veto powers. Somewhat similar to the many vetoes Bush has been issuing lately.
So is Bush a bad president? Unless he does something amazing over the next year, I would say yes. Is he a good president? Most definitely not. The worst? Maybe.

Well I must admit that I am politically illiterate, but that does not mean that I do not recognize a political mess when I see one. Because I was totally in the dark about such things, I have been searching for someone to make sense out of some of the things that Bush is doing. No one from any nationality or income bracket has been able to help me.
The thing about him that upsets me the most is that all these troops are over there in Iraq dying for not even Bush knows what. Then, the way he handled Hurricane Katrina was horrible too. I hear all of the passing the buck, but the bottom line is that he is in charge and he is totally lousy.
No wonder so many people jumped ship when he was re-elected. How that happened is beyond me. But I have to say, in all honesty, I do not vote for either party. I have to fully support them to do that.

Yes, the absolute worse as far as I'm concerned. He has the whole war in Iraq, letting the religious right control many things he does, high gas prices, the list goes on. Add to that the issues with Iran and I heard they are planning on invading that country AND Cuba. The military is stretched out as far as it can go, so I don't know HOW that would work out.
Add to all of that the healthcare crisis where many millions of Americans cannot afford health insurance, many people needing two or three different jobs just to pay for housing, gas, insurance and food. That is really bad, and thousands of people are currently loosing their homes and are kicked out on the street because they cannot afford them anymore.
I agree with the poster above me when s/he said that George Bush would become dictator if he could. I wouldn't be surprised if he tries to be one since he is tearing the Constitution up and taking away everyone's rights. Oh, and selling the American seaports to other countries, especially in the Middle East. That in my book is treason because he is selling our country to the highest bidder. I guess he enjoys making as much of a mess of the country as he can before he leaves office.

I do not think Bush is the worst president, though I don't support him. Anyone who claims he is if ignorant of American history.
