It's big! That hard-earned cash that will only help fund another politician's mansion. I agree with what most of you guys said. I too have no problems with paying tax as long as you'd see or feel the benefits of such high taxes like cleaner sidewalks, better roads, well-lit streets, better public facilities such as schools and hospitals. But right now, all i see is bigger mansions being owned with those selfish politicians.

lol...i have remembered one of our taxation professors that tax is the life-blood of our country...it should've been used for the people's welfare...but the sad thing is, in 100% tax only 10% goes to the people and the 90%,,,to 'certain' pockets...

You are from or in the USA, I assume. Well, I, too, think that there is just too much and too many taxations going on. You know, of course, that besides the income tax, we also pay taxes on the already taxed money for food, gas, property, etc.

I would think that your pay must be higher or your earning more other than your basic pay. The first poster is right the higher your earning the higher your taxes are. I think for our government to survive they have to do that, I don't think without it we would have a society to call. Of course you would say that there is rampant corruption in the government and its not worth it that you pay them but hey if we won't contribute something for our country that earnings of yours will become worthless since I would say law and order will be much worse if we don't have a working government to watch over things. Corruption will always be there but for as long as the government is being able to deliver the minimum requirement of protecting us the citizens. The basic thing that we have to do is pay what is due to them and be vigilant that we get something out of the taxes we pay.

yeah...you are right...actually, tax is the life-blood of our country...it is one way to support the needs of the government and of the constituents...here in australia...the tax is so high...but many people benefit from the taxes paid by high earners...we will just look the good side of it...

yeah...way back in the philippines, i had a less pay...and basing on my income, i may say that the tax is really great...i used to complain a lot as to my taxes...then i came to realize that no matter how corrupt our government is, at least somehow, our tax is used in a way that at least benefits the constituents.. now i'm in australia, i once again was shocked because my tax is heaps...especially if you'll convert it in peso...then, i came to think of it again, i am not a citizen in this country and i realized that i can benefit a lot from it...based on my research i can even ask for a refund... also the same, in the philippines, if you just know the tax laws, you will know on what expenses to claim to lessen your tax...but still we should pay our tax as it benefits us...

For you to be paying that much in taxes you have to be making a really good dollar. Most people don't make that much before they get their taxes deducted. The way I look at paying taxes is this. I live in Canada and I have to pay taxes like paying rent to have the privilege to live here in Canada. How else would they pay for all the public services they provide. Like streets and water and police and firemen and so on.

i also heard with other countries that they even gave diff privileges as far as scholarship education for the students. its a good thing that you have those things in your country but unfortunately, i cant feel it here.

Yes, taxes are a burden ,but they are not going away. In the states you have to pay taxes because according to the government this is how we get all the benefits that we enjoy.

i have studied accounting for years...and taxation is part of it...all i can say is, the tax is based on your income...maybe you're getting a high pay...and you are single person so the deduction is less...if you are married and having kids, you'll pay less tax as it has heaps of deduction... tell me, i might be able to explain more if i'll know your status, if you have dependents...(if you don't mind) but you see, if you get out of the company before the end of the tax period, which is usually the month of december, you will be given tax refund...it may not be that huge amount but at least there is a refund...

its okay to pay for taxes if only you know where the money went to. unfortunately, most of our politicians are corrupt. sad to say.
