what is the best sauce for the paste?

Tomato, white sauce, cheese.... what do you thin taht is the best sauce for the paste? and how you make this sauce?

Tomato sauce - bottle of tomato sauce
When I make pasta or even pizza myself I prefer to use normal tomato sauce that people usually use for every day food, I love tomato sauce, I find the italian sauce to be a little bitter or something for me.
