I'm 53 yrs. old, I had spinal meningitis at the age of 15. I wanted to know the long time affects of this disease. When I had this and I was in the hospital, I was kick out because I wouldn't let them do a second spinal tap. I suffer from bad headaches 24/7, I have arthritis about 99% of my body, I'm a diabetic and asthmatic. Is there a survivor support group, is there any method of comfortor help in any way.

I had spinal meningitis when I was 13 or 14 months old. I went into a coma for a short time. I don't recall anything before 4 years old and I was told by my mom that I had to relearn how to walk and talk (apparently I had been doing both before I got sick) and that I even became left handed some time during my sickness. I don't know if there are any long term effects, all I know is that I am lucky to be alive today because my mom and grandmother didn't listen to the idiot doctor that sent us home when I was deathly sick.
