Are you part of the PTO?

IF yes, why? If no, why? What would convince you to join? What is your image of the PTO. Good? Bad? Don't know enough? Are you afraid it would take up all your time?

I never heard of this organization until this day. I don't think there is such an organization in my country.

Actually most of my life it was called the PTA (Parent Teacher Association). I've never belonged but honestly don't know why except most of the years my kids have been in school I've been a single mother working all the hours I could to support the family. I think if I was a stay at home mom and didn't have to work that I would enjoy being part of it though.

Did you know you could still be a part even if you don't have time to volunteer at the school?

I was always involved in my kids pto/pta... I think that more parents should be. You know what is going on in your kids school... you know who they are with and hang out with. you learn to pick the teachers that go with your childs personality. Which is VERY important in your childs education!

When my boys was little, I was a part of everything in there life. The PTO is a good way to keep up with the happenings with the school. I dont regret any thing I did in the schools while my boys was there. I have alot of great memories.

That is what I am hoping for. So far it has been a fun experience, but the PTO here is a bit disorganized. We're working on making it better.
