do you stick to one theme while decorating a christmas tree?

i was just wondering on how many people have certain themes that they stick to while decorating there christmas tree? or do you just put up random ornaments and decorations because they are all your favorites? I see lots of different tree decorating ideas and am always looking for more. One year i had nothing but precious moments decorations and the garland etc balls matched the precious moments ornaments. then another year we had just metalic purple and blue... then after that our daughter was born adn each year we just went out and purchased differnt ornaments to suite her wants like etc. we have all differnt colored balls, garlnad, ornaments from "babys first christmas" to things she made in school to my little pony etc etc.. what does your tree get decorated wiht each year? random ornaments or one theme such as silver adn blue?
