Bluetooth that can measure distance from another bluetooth device / myLot

Are there any bluetooth device already available that can measure its distance from another bluetooth device? specifically on mobile phones... My students are about to do their research project and they found this research in Cairo that allows packets of audio file to be transfered from one phone to another despite beyond the 10-meter distance by simply hopping from one bluetooth device to another until the packets reach their distination. But the limitation is that it doesn't look for the most optimal path for the packets to travel. My students would to solve that one. right now they are starting to look for some related literature in this. Hope myLot friends can help me.... Thanks

Hi bong_domingo, For your info Nokia N70 is applicable to that all stuff. Just like if you want to send text messages randomly in certain distance range, it can be done. Even though you don't know others cell contact number. Same thing to bluetooth function for distance measurement within the range. Just get it try with your friend for those who got N70.
