What book would you take on a deserted Island?

What book would you take on a deserted island? What genre would it be or what type of book hardcover or softcover? I would have a hard time choosing just one book.

I would choose any thick book with an interesting title or review. Also it would be probably a soft cover as you can't keep hard bound books with you as it would be difficult to keep them in proper condition.
