I just wanted to share the excitement with all of you! This past year has gone by so quickly, I can't believe it's his first birthday already. He was just a little 7 pound, 5 ounce, 18 inch bundle and now he's 20 pounds 4 ounces, 28 inches tall, he says some words, crawls and limbs all over, he can even walk a few feet at a time all by himself. We are saving the "party" until the weekend when everyone will be around, but we did get a little cake for today. It's just so exciting when a little one has their very first birthday, don't you think?

I'll sneak some pictures of him with his cake in here somewhere tomorrow when s/o gets back with his phone. It wasn't as much fun as a chocolate cake but he did pretty good...for some reason the 3 little boys are very areful eaters!

Thanks TerryZ! Daddy picked up a little cake this morning just for us to have for today but we'll have two more (with each set of grandparents) before the celebrating is over. And we just finished off his grandpa's birthday cake last night, AND my oldest daughter's birthday is in 3 weeks!

I know exactly how you feel. My son is going to be seven months soon and I could not wait to celebrate his first birthday. It is really priceless to watch him grow day by day, learning new things along the way.

Thanks shakeroo...that's such a cute name! You just treasure the next few months with your son, he will go from being just a baby to an almost toddler in such a short time. It's exciting but at the same time a little bittersweet...at least it is for me because this one is my last baby.

Oh, there's nothing to be sorry about. I would have liked one more little girl but this one was #6 for me and #8 combining mine an my s/o's children. The family is plenty big enough and now we can just sit back and wait for the grandbabies...which won't be too long of a wait since the oldest two will be 16 and 18 on their next birthdays. Hopefully a few years, but not too long!

Well the way I look at it he's my first Nicholas to have a first birthday. I've always tried to treat my children as individuals rather than lumping them together as a group. It's hard sometimes but usually works out pretty good.

It is exciting watching our children grow. I know that I have been excited for each of my children's first birthday. Of course, they didn't have a clue as to why we were so excited, but they certainly fed off of our excitement. I celebrate your happiness with you!! I hope that you have a great weekend party.

Belated greetings to the birthday boy! Hope you all had a really nice celebration and took lots of pictures (his face covered with icing would be really precious--also good material for blackmail when he gets older, hehehehe)! My son is 29 and my daughter is 24 (25 in January) and I still get teary eyed and sentimental (remembering the pains of labour help!). All birthdays are exciting, but don't forget: you deserve some love too, you were the one who carried him all those months and had to huff and puff to push him out! Now YOU have a wonderful day!!! Hugs to the little one (and you) from Granny Siggy!

Aww thanks! I did actually have an easy delivery but still! He was like his older brother with the cake...very careful. I have a few cute pictures but none with cake in his ears and eyebrows like some of the other ones have done.

O! its really a sweet news to hear.. and you must be really in a joyous mood.. and probably would have forgetten the $ 30 dollar short drama by the ATM.. and BTW, have you got the money from the bank? I really love the kids first walk on this earth. The happiness that the Mom, gets on seeing her Kid's first walk is quite indescribable.. and never on earth.. one can equate it to money.. Have a nice time friend:)

You know what? With everything else going on I did forget about that! I know he's been to the bank since so I assume he got the money back but I never thought to ask. :) Even though he has been taking a few steps for about 3 weeks, I still get excited everytime he tries. He goes a little farther everytime and I just keep watching him not wanting to miss a single step. Thanks saivenkaat!

Hi,foxyfire! That sounds very nice. You baby is one year old today? Congratulations! I guess you're so happy about that. This is like a milestone for your son and you, isn't it?I can already tell how excited you are. It's very nice to watch your own kid grow bigger and bigger gradually, right? Especially when a kid can walk by himself the first time and say a word first time. Those moments are so wonderful and unforgettable. Best regards for your son and you! Enjoy his birthday with him together:)

It is very exciting. My son's birthday was such a huge event. It is amazing to see the changes they go through in one very short year. It is also a milestone for you. Making it through the first year is tough. It is so busy and tiring but wonderful all at the same time.
