In our family the tradition for all holidays is deviled eggs. I don't know why it seems like that is the only time we have them. It may not always be the same person that makes them, but we always have deviled eggs no matter what the holiday or whose house the dinner is held.

I love deviled eggs and take them to Holiday parties too. They always are one of the first dishes to go! Everyone like finger food they can just pick up when they pass by the plate!

Yummy! I've eaten several varieties of deviled eggs (each person seems to make them differently), but I've never had one I didn't like!

I would have to say tabouli. Strange choice I know, but my grandma knows I love the stuff, so she makes it every Thanksgiving. I think me and my grandma are the only ones who like it, but that is fine with me, there is more for us! : )

Well, I'll tell ya, it tastes better than the ingredients sound. If I had not tasted it before I knew the ingredients, I wouldn't have eaten it. Not that anything gross is in there, but it just doesn't sound like it can taste good. Tabouli (also spelled Tabouleh) is Lebanese in origin, but I'm not Lebanese at all. I still like it, LOL. Anyway, the main ingredients although some people add different things, is bulger wheat, tomato, finely chopped parsley, chopped scallions, mint (not always), with lemon juice and herbs. My grandma has to make it the night before our dinner because it has to set overnight. She doesn't make it from a mix at the store, she does it all herself. The mixes don't always taste good. Oh, and when you eat it, you can't taste the parsley at all, and you won't be able to put your finger on it until someones says, oh that's lemon juice you taste. Because it's not obvious.

We ALWAYS have pumpkin pie. Mostly because I always insist on it. My grandparents always serve turkey shaped sugar cookies. Hmm..I think our family specific foods are desserts, lmfao.

Lol they are. I'm afraid we're all rather sugar charged by the end of the day though, lol. Pie, coslaw with marshmellows in it, tons of soda, cookies...man. I never realized that before lol.

My mother would always have these typical or usual foods for dinner in Thanksgiving but I would really and always suggest for spaghetti because it’s my favorite and my brother loves salad and I don’t like salad. I also like mango float, one of my favorites. ;)

There was always lots of different things for Thanksgiving when I was growing up. There were lots of salads and veggie dishes, along with the turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing, etc. There were usually about a dozen desserts as well. We always had a huge dinner, though, because it was at my grandma's house and all 4 of my mom's siblings and their kids and grandkids were there, so there were lots of people there. Now it's just my husband, my son and me for Thanksgiving, so we just do the traditional stuff. We would waste too much food if we fixed a big dinner. My husband grew up with some different things for his Thanksgiving meal, though. Instead of mashed potatoes and gravy, they had potato salad. They usually had ham instead of turkey as well. And spaghetti was often served.

It was just my husband's family, not a regional thing. He's from Missouri, just like I am.

LOL. The first one had been deleted! You got me there! Being in Oz, we don't have Thanksgiving, though I think we should. If we are having a special dinner, then it is usually a roast. Sweet potato has to be on the menu! lol. And roast onion and carrot too! I love my vegies.

Well I know it is close to American thanksgiving so this is a topic at hand. We don't really do anything different at my house. We have the turkey, gravy, stuffing, carrots, brussel sprouts, etc. I guess the only think different is my dad sometimes makes stuffing with brown bread crumbs. This gives it a wet thicker consistency. At thanksgiving we have pumpkin pie for desert and christmas we have ambrosia salad.

We have always had deviled eggs, pumpkin pie and apple salad with Thanksgiving dinner besides the turkey. I always get my husband a jar of green olives too he is the only one that eats them and for some reason Thanksgiving dinner is the only time I buy them.
