C.C. Sabathia=Cy Young Winner

I just heard on the news a few minutes ago that C.C. Sabathia has just won the Cy Young Award. He is the 1st Indians pitcher to receive the award since Gaylord Perry back in 1972. I guess you could say that's a consolation prize since he didn't get the ring this year. I'm glad he got some recognition and recognize he had a good year.
Anybody surprised on this? I thought it would be either him or Carmona if there was a Tribe member to receive it. Though Beckett from the Red Sox was a very strong candidate, I guess C.C. got it in the end. I wonder if that will make the National Media upset. For Tribe fans, it could be a sign of something good in the future.
I know Sox fans won't be too happy but oh well, they got the World Series ring. I'd rather the Tribe have the World Series ring but this will do. I just wonder what this will mean in the end.
In fact, reading on ESPN and just hearing on the local news, he won in such a convincinb fashion beating out notable guys like Beckett, Lackey, and his teammate Carmona as well. What do Tribe fans feel about this? Personally, this could be a confidence boost and hopefully he can build with it to get better in the post-season. That's how I see it but that's me.

I just have to say congrats to C.C., I thought Fausto should have received it, but congrats to C.C.

I didn't know which of the two Tribe pitchers was gonna get it if it came down to them. I would say Fausto def. improved the most between 2 seasons from when he 1st came on the scene and last season. I just hope both are going to be ready and do what they can to help the team out big time.

yes I am really wonder that CC. sabathia won the Cy young Award, sice he is he the first indian pitcher to receive the award since that long I bet it will be a good thing for all the poeple from india, I think that Carmona would have win be well it is like the thing happend , you know, it only can be one winner, I think it will be the national media upset because you know how they work out, and about the fans I think it always happen in all that some fans will be happy and anothers disapointed but well, you know like is not fair and someone have to win, very few times there is more of one winner.

That's true. Both him and Carmona had good years and if it had gone to either of them, I wouldn't be dissapointed. The media is upset I think partly because Beckett didn't get it. True, he had a much better post-season than both Sabathia and Carmona combined, but only regular season stats matter. Not to say Beckett was bad at all, he was pretty sharp and right on the money.
I think with that one to tell you the truth, it could have gone to either Beckett or Sabathia if it really came down to those two. It just happened to be C.C.'s. I'm just hoping it leads to him improving and using that as a motivation for next season.
