very good point. You might be correct but I don't think it is a real problem. I believe that the english language has been ruined long before texting. Texting just abbreviates the problem. The language has to be spoken properly and I think that is where we have let it go

Yes if you text too much in txt language then you will not be able to remember the correct spelling and proper English word after awhile. So be smart and use the full words or just call the person instead of sending text messages.

Yes it does. I myself for example, since i am used to send msgs thru texting using "texting language" so sometimes i forget to use the correct one. To my dismay i almost use the texting language where proper english language needed.

Nothing can ruin any language. In fact most languages why all languages are beautiful. Problems in expression arises because one can express better in mother tongue and english language may be foreign. If thoughts are clear, expressions will be easier. No matter if you do not use the correct word, as long as the message is clear. There is no grammer teacher around us to cut marks.

No it doesn´t. I use correct English to write letters etc, I use txt eng to respond to texts! As long as u remember the difference (not the "u"!!) it´s fine. Everything seems to be for speed & convenience these days, but if u learn the correct use of the English language & can differentiate between correct spoken English (incl for correspondence) & quickie text English, there´s a world of difference. However I learnt correct English is school BEFORE (or should I say b4) texts were in existence!!!
