A Pet Experience: How old were you then?

My brothers and I had our first pet when I was in Grade 5. It was a pet dog. The dog was given when she still was a puppy. She did not have a breed, she is merely an askal -- "indigenous" dog. She was brown. We named her SAMBOY -- after a popular basketball player in the country. We loved Samboy so much. After months of taking care of her... and until she reached poverty that's when we realized that Samboy was a she. Every morning, she would go with us until she could barely handle the distance going to our school. Ahmmm. She never really reached our school. She would just join us until we could find a cab or jeepney. Every afternoon, she would be pretty excited to meet us up. :) We had a nice relationship with SAMBOY. Until, one day, she grew fiercer. One of her victims were the daughter of our apartment. This reached the owner. SAMBOY would bark wildly like crazy or she would just run after you (just to frighten esp. those who threatened us). Since, there were a larger number of individuals who were complaining, my parents decided to give up SAMBOY. One day, we brought her to my cousin's place. And all I saw was an airgone held by someone... and then, I realized that they killed Samboy. I cried. Sounds weird, but, I was so sad when I heard the gun shots. My brothers were there when they executed Samboy. I was not. I remember my mother consoling me... explaining to me why Samboy had to go. See. I had a traumatizing 1st Pet Experience. Samboy did not have any children, maybe because, she thought she were a boy. :) I was in college, when we had our 2nd pet. Anyways, what was your first pet? What was its name? Did you care for it?
