The other day I was vacuuming. I had the kids pick up there toys and clothes. Well I went under the couch and heard this errrrr sound then smelled something burning. I shut of the vacuum and saw I had sucked up Sock! It had burned the belt right off. So I took the hose off{I have a bagless vacuum} and went about retreving the sock. Truns out its not that easy to get the sock out! LOL. I ended up running hot water through the hose. It pushed the sock out. The hose ended up pretty clean as well. Now I have to go get a new belt. A few weeks earlier I was vacuuming and sucked up the cord for the blinds. Almost tore them right off the wall!! Now I ut them up before I vacuum. So have any of you sucked something up in a vacuum you wernt supposed to?

I've sucked up a few things that I shouldn't have. I've sucked up paper clips before, which isn't good because they can mess up the motor in the vacuum. I've also sucked up a piece of rubber tubing that was under the couch. It jammed the vacuum but thank goodness it didn't wreck anything.

god yes i have done that a few times in my life.one time i was vaccuming and i didn't realize what i was sucking up there at the moment,so when i went to check to see what it was, well it turned out to be my nieces home work, she stayed over for a few days and well with my kids at the age that they are at well, they just love touching stuff that don't belong to them lol,you know that deal.well they must of went into her book bag and hid the papers under the blanket.well then i went to go vaccum and when i went to vaccum by the blanket the paper got sucked up,so then i moved the blanket completly and turned off the vaccum.had to take it all a part and there was her home work for school.how do you explain that one to your teacher, thats just as bad as the dog ate my home work lol.pattie
