Do you believe that a goat or a pair of chickens can the change the world for one family? I know a lot of people who think that answer is no. I was just posting to another discussion about Christmases where the kids got no presents. I remembered a time when, as a child, our family decided to skip the gifts and give some family in another country the gift of a pair of goats. I always wondered if that family's life was better because of it. I just got my World Vision catalog today and it reminded me of that time. It allows people to choose the type of gift that they wish to give to some one who lives in poverty, whether in another country or right here in the USA. I was just wondering how many people actually believe that these types of organizations are for real and actually help people. I was thinking of buying a set of goats or some chickens through the catalog.

I am not familiar with World Vision, but I am familiar with Heifer Project International, and I have no doubts that they do what they say they do with animal gifts. I use them quite often and highly recommend them. www.heifer.org

I have heard of the Heifer Project. I actually heard about World Visions from Oprah. I am all for helping out the world. I believe that one person CAN change the world for another person.
