I know what I am talking about. Some say experience is the best teacher. I know what it means when life deals you a blow. I have been a pastor for 7 years and have helped so many people deal with issues in their lives. So many times people automatically think that since I am a Pastor I get a free pass through struggles in life. They think...Oh he doesn't know what I am going through. Let me tell you something. That is the furthest from the truth. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I have a wife and 4 children. I love them all and they are all perfect. :) Ok that is not the whole truth. Truth is, I have a daughter who has Chiari Malformation and Syringomyelia, she has had 3 brain surgeries. She also is autistic and an epileptic as well and many other health issues. This year my wife had brain surgery for her Chiari Malformation. It was then found out that 2 of my other children also have Chiari. That's 3 out of 4. One of my daughters has the Chiari, and neurofibromytosis. My 2 sons have as well as my 2 daughter have a serious genetic disorder that has no name. They just now found the gene causing it and they have said that it might well be called the "Huff Syndrome". Imagine that, most people leave their estate for their descendants and we leave a genetic disorder for ours. lol. or is it Cry out loud. I have been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea (The most severe type) and I don't even fit the stereotype. I'm slightly overweight but not anything that would cause what my doctor called today "A horrendous case of sleep apnea". Then I was diagnosed with a liver disorder that is often found in alcholics. Now I may have a glass of wine every other year so what causes that. They don't know. You see I know what it means to have life deal you a blow. So what is the difference between me and the rest of the world. I have seen so many discussions stating there is no God. I laugh in their face. Because I have a peace that passes the worlds understanding. I have Joy that is unending. No matter what has come my way I have overcome, not because I am this great guy, but because I have a God who is alive and well and His Spirit is alive in me. Who else do you know that has been through this much in just 3 years and still get up in front of a group of people and sing about the love of His Lord. To preach the gosple of the kingdom of heaven. To say that God is GOOD ALL THE TIME and mean every word. You see those who say I use God as a crutch has got it all wrong. A crutch is needed when you have trouble standing. I stand on my own 2 feet. I speak with my own mouth. BUT...I stand in HIS strength, and I speak with HIS words because without HIM I am nothing. Those who reject Him have no strength to stand in times of trouble and the day will come when their own strength will give way. But I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me. Please take this discussion, even though is sounds like a blog, and use it as encouragement for what you are going through. And then post how God has brought you through things that without Him you would not otherwise be able to stand. In Revelation the Word of God says that we "shall overcome by the BLood of the Lamb and the Word of "OUR" Their testimonies."
