Hi,laurika! I'm sorry to hear that. Well, since you've got no medicine at home, you'd better put sth cold on his forehead. What's more, make some hot water for him.He should drink a lot of water so it makes the body better. Is it cold at your place? When you guys go to bed, make sure that the blankets for him are thick enough and he has nothing outside of the blanket. If he lets the sweat of the body out, then I think he'll be all right. Best regards for him and you.Hopefully you guys can make it! Don't be too worried.I hope he'll get well soon:)

I find raw garlic - at least 1-2 cloves a day, if he can take it. I have a juicer and tend to put two cloves of garlic, 2/3 apples and a piece of ginger root. It's hot and unpleasant, but it really clears the head. I would suggest though that if the fever is a bad one to call in a doctor. :-)

If the fever is not due to any of the food allergies, or due to viral infection.,.. drinking bolied water alot..and putting cold towel on his fore head will take of the heat. The temperatures of the body soar up, automatically..in order to kill the foreign anti-bodies that had find its way through. Okay..one thing send me a flight ticket for germany and i will go and fetch you back all the things you left in Germany...lolz.. No worries dear, your man will be alright soon. Take care and have a nice day.)

Hello dear laurika. I am so sorry to hear that your man got home with high fever. I think that you are right to put a cold towel on his forehead to help decrease the temperature as you don't have any medicine at home for a high fever. You could also have him drink more water. but still it is better to go to the doctor and get an injection, which is more effective than all the other ways. I hope that he is getting better now as it has been five hours since you posted this discussion. Good luck and be blessed, dear Laurika and your man.

well my friend,i know this is gonna sound crazy but trust me this does work very well because i had to do this 2 weeks ago when all 3 of my babies had fevers.take a potatoe out of the bag and place the potatoe in your sock, make sure the poatoe stays by the heel of the foot,if it doesn't stay there you can place a small piece of tape on the sock to keep the potatoe in place.leave it there for like an hour, then check the temperture of your fever,it should drop.i did this and my babies had a 103 fever at one point and when i did the potatoe thing their fever dropped to 101 in like a hour and half which was cool.pattie

well you really need to get some medicine into him, but you could have tried a cool bath or shower to bring his body temperature down, also you could have tried giving him cool liquids to drink. is he better now? if not, you need to give him some medicine.

I see the problem is mostly resoled but I'll add my 2 cents anyway just in case the fever comes back (or you get it). I prefer to sweat it off. I put on my warm pajamas and snuggle in under a warm blanket or two. I make sure I drink plenty of water though. Usually I fall asleep and wake up soaked in sweat but feeling much better.

I'd say oranges/orange juice and/or tomatoes/tomato juice. Salads could help out too (green vegetables in general). Make sure he gets rest too. Sometimes fevers are a body response to viruses and internal infections. These infections weaken in an environment slightly higher in temperature than the human body.

Not a doctor so I can only say what I have tried and has worked for me and my kids as recommended by their doctor- a luke warm bath. You are trying to cool the blood to reduce the fever so they say put cool towel on head, neck,or other pulse areas to cool that blood as it flows elsewhere. Doc said runa luke warm bath - luck warm so the child will get in and also so they are not "shocked" by the coldness. But luke warm, they will get in and the sit and play and as the water cools off, they don't notice the change in temp. The more cool water on more pulse points, means that the coolwater is cooling the blood in a multiple places, thereby cooling down the blood in the body, ergo the fever breaking. I did this many times with my kids and grand kids and it works every time. Now granted, fevers can differ as to what is causeing them and the person themselves, and of course consult your doctor, but call him and ask him if this is good for your child.

You are doing well so far. Usually cover them up completely make sure they are warm and then put a cold cloth on the forehead. Tylenol helps lower the fever as well. I heard this one holistic remedy where you put wet socks on your feet and then put really heavy wool ones on the outside. Then you got to sleep with them on. The idea is that the cold draws the fever downwards. I don't know all the specifics of this one though, so you should research it before you do it. Please make sure you see a docter if it goes above 101 and stays for too long.
