what next? Ive just heard that they want to stop santa saying his traditional 'ho,ho,ho'. This has been around for so many years, i dont see why they want to change it. Its only the Australian santas though. They want him to say 'ha,ha,ha'. The reasons behind it are that it could scare little children and also be derogatory to women. I think the biggest thing that scares children with santa is the facial hair. I know a couple of my kids used to be scared of him, but it definately wasnt the ho,ho,ho. How do others feel about it? Are they taking political correctness too far? They try to change so many things these days. Where will it end?

How ridiculous is that? Ha ha ha is no better than ho ho ho, to my mind, and what's the point of changing a lifetime belief. There are some very sensitive, childish women about, if you ask me. Whatever next? I think, as you do, that the facial hair and a strange face and scent frightens the kiddies more than the ho ho ho. Brightest Blessings, my dear friend. HO HO HO! lol.

Oh wow!!! Good luck with the shop... that's great news! As for Santa, I suppose it's another one of these things that's been twisted and taken out of all context with the "Ho ho ho, little girl." phrase. There are some sensitive women in the trade in which that phrase is used and I would have thought they already degraded themselves enough. lol. It's a bit like the attempted banning of nativity plays in our schools. Complaints that it goes against certain religions are to my mind unfounded. As you know, I'm not a Christian but I think the traditional nativity play is a big part of Christmas and the kids' values of the celebration. I love to see it in school plays and those who want it taken out should be ashamed... it's TRADITION in THIS country!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrr, that makes me so angry. Sorry my friend, I went off on one then. :) I have a whole heap of arguments along those lines, but I won't mar your discussion. Brightest Blessings and one more big dose of GOOD LUCK for your shop opening!!! You go girl.. you worked hard for this!!! xxx

All these so-called 'do-gooders' want to change things. None of my friends find it offensive, i know that. I think they are starting to take things too far. As you say, what will be next? Scary thought actually. Its taken me a while to reply, i have been heaps busy. I am opening the shop tomorrow! Its exciting, but scary to. Best wishes to you, Darkwing, and thanks for your response

Hi there stranger. Yes, this is ridiculous in the extreme. What have little kids, innocent little kids, got to do with this sort of rubbish? Santa said it first. Besides, it's an Americanism and a mispronounciation of a word, it's correct pronounciation is 'hor'. Will we also be renaming the gardening implememnt? Leave Santa alone and let the children remain innocent and stop this blatant stupidity. And a Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas to you. (None of this Happy Holidays crap either!) LOL. Best wishes and hope things are fine with you.

I also think it's a case of PC gone crazy. "Ha, Ha, Ha" doesn't make sense for Santa, that isn't a jolly chuckle. Actually to me it sounds like what the wicked witch or evil villain would say. As for the women who might be offended by "Ho, Ho, Ho" well, I figure they aren't too concerned about being PC. It's somewhat amusing to me that being PC is no longer PC because of how many people are annoyed by the ridiculousness of the PC ideas.

Well, I will go for it the day they stop showing scary programs on telly, censure movies from all the violence that children can see even if we parent do not want that. I will go for it when they stop showing shows like "big brother" at children's TV -time. I will go for it if the hole world Stop all the violence that scares kids and adults more than a santa say ho ho ho.....the most stupid thing I have ever heard.

i think they just dont want us to enjoy christmas. Things have changed so much since i was a child. They are slowly taking everything away. I remember going into the city and all the shops would have grand displays. It was wonderful. But you dont see it much anymore. But i know one shop window that will be all decorated, and thats my shop. I actually open tomorrow! Thanks for your response, and best wishes to you gabs

I dont think it will ever end. That is the funniest s*** ive heard in awhile! if anything with societies craziness children are more radical and becoming "tougher"... so saying "hohoho" shouldt scare them.. lol but if " ha ha ha" makes the worlds boat float then so be it!
