Aeroplan and Airmiles points

Does anyone know anything about these two programs? I am a member for both, but am having a hard time finding more information about where to get points, how to redeem. I', particularly looking for information on redeeming points for travel.

Your best bet is to visit www.airmiles.ca for your Airmiles program. I've had a lot of luck with that program. I have several DVDs and household appliances that I redeemed through them, and recently my boyfriend redeemed his for $150 off a car rental when we visited my friend in Ontario.
Aeroplan I can't help you out with, I WAS a member, but recently when I went to use my card for points when I was purchasing something, it told me my card # didn't exist. Go figure that a program ran by Air Canada would just cancel my account with no notice, but still send me marketing information and Aeroplan credit card apps.
