I just read this on Yahoo News and it is quite interesting - something I didn't know was happening...not that I know everything, but this is something I am glad I now know as I do shop online. http://www.wired.com/culture/lifestyle/news/2007/11/shopping_strategies Seems Retaails base alot of their online promotions and price points on shoppers' habits. Price fluxuation can occur after repeat visits to the same site. Sometimes they drop for repeat visits, however, they can also increase based on them thinking - "they've come back so they are definately interested so we'll up the price a litte..." You can check to see if this is happening to you by logging out from the retail site, clearing your computers browsers cookies (temp internet files) and then revisiting the site again. If you find a lower price - buy it. Re-register with a new customer account if necessary. Takes a little trial and error and "see if it works" but if it can save you some money - it is time well spent!
